Definitely misrepresenting.
You can't run modern console games at 4K and 60 fps "without compromises" unless you've got a bleeding edge graphics card in SLI. There obviously WILL be compromises, most likely in framerate because pretty IQ sells.
IMO, they should.
Sony could just hint that they're working on something similar to Scorpio, without revealing the specs. Just say something like, you'll be surprised just as you were when you heard about 8GB of GDDR5 memory for the PS4, or something like that.
Then just start re-structuring NEO from there.
But if the rumours are true that they're releasing NEO this year, I think its too late to do that.

Nah. Everything stays the same but you can upgrade and reap benefits. There is no clear cut generation that brushes aside everything that has been build up. In that sense, its over yes.

I just rewatched this portion of the stream and they specifically said ''True 4K resolution'' I'm having a REALLY hard time believing it. There's just no way that a console in 2017 will be able to play games at 4k and at a reasonable frame rate and also having decent graphics. If all of this is true then that console next year will be the Microsoft version of the infamous ''$699'' I just don't see it happening. it would've been better just to not say anything. Because it sounds like a fairy-tale at this moment.

I never said it would beat the 980TI in games.
In fact I said the opposite. Still, the 980ti comparison will probably be like 10-20% increase.
Probably safe to say that generations will be blurred from here on. Upgraded HW every couple of years, with MS/Sony having one year each as "the most powerful". From now on, it´s all about locking the userbase to the ecosystem. For now, Sony have the upper hand.

MS did nothing to change my perception that they are the home of Bro-gamer COD and FIFA.
I know their catalogue is more varied than that but, they're not showing The Last Guardian or Horizon Zero Dawns.
They managed to turn me off of FF XV with that demo and I'm sure I can wait for Inside to port over.
Add to that there strategy is to have all exclusives run on PC and you left wondering - why XBox?

For plenty of people it's the reason they bought the ps4 over an Xbox, again myself included. Like 70-80% of triple A games are multiplat anyway.

For people who want the best console gaming experience and don't care for building PCs or for people who just want it just because.
I'm curious to see if PC GAF is interested in this. I have a high end windows 10 PC so I don't see the point of having both especially when all of the games can be played on Windows 10 devices.
It's cool to see consoles going this route though,

naw, i doubt this will effect them, consoles will become more like pc's in a box, thanks to amd, consumer will be giving choices, consoles are just pc's being sold in a box by powerful brands, i don't see how this won't be profitable venture considering amd and nividia are make new gpu's and cpu's almost every year.

Yeah, this box is pretty much irrelevant to PC gamers. The only thing I really want from them now is to fix the god awful UWP.
They pretty much have to cater to PC gamers now to maintain some relevance.
