BOUND (PS4, Plastic, Sony Santa Monica) E3 Trailer

Between this, Abzu & NMS August is going to be a glorious month for visuals.

Her movement is hypnotic, so we'll done.

Damn I remember seeing this game months and months ago and it looked good but this trailer was something amazing. Its like a dancers acid trip version of Journey.

Two things:

1) I'm buying it
2) I hope music drives the environment
3) (OK, 3 things) - Imagine this in VR!!!!!!!

Day 0.

still looks gorgeous, weird that the trailer wasn't shown during Sony's conference. Or that there wasn't an indie/smaller games showcase at all, hope they aren't moving on from that.

I was already sold the moment I saw that she dances even when doing the most tedious task like pushing something out of the way or just doing cartwheels while standing on a ledge over an abyss just for the hell of it. The animations are just gorgeous

SSM is making this and God of War 4? Thought they had a shitload of layoffs a short while back?

It's just incredible. My favourite moment was when she's doing the ol' carefully shimmy around the ledge move - and she does it as a little dance on half-toes. (All my ballet glossary has bled out my ears over the years, unfortunately, heh.) After coming off Uncharted 4 recently, Nathan Drake did very much not do that when he shimmied around a ledge.

Day 1!

If I recall the correctly the more you move the less likely the bad guys are to get to you so the central mechanic was making grtting from a to b as elaborate as possible. Demoscene roots sounds cool. Wish I had demoscene roots... Sniff... Snifff... Hmmm is there a demoscene near me? Anyways love the look and want this.

LOVED what I played of this at PSX. The mocap in this is top notch. Makes me wonder what other games that are narrative heavy would feel like if all the mocap animation was done in this style; TLoU, UC4, Bloodborne, etc...

As a 3D artist, this game looks like a nightmare.

looks beautiful though

This team is a demo-scener group -- they live for technical nightmares!

What could be nightmarish to them (maybe?) might actually be designing a playable game that human beings can understand after years of making things abstract and obtuse by nature ... it's a little hard to tell whether they've summited that obstacle or not based on what's shown in this trailer. (It looks gorgeous, but bizarre, and they've said that it's something other than a platformer in gameplay so everything I can see as play is potentially registering wrong.) But I'm psyched to see Plastic try something like this and I really hope they have gameplay as interesting as their visuals.

Oh yeah, it was at PSX, eh? I never read impressions of it then, curious to hear what people thought of Bound in play.

Oh wow.

I think I found the first game to play together with my 3-year old daughter, other than Frozen Snowball Fight.

Journey x Tearaway x surrealism x ballet.

Will buy at full price just to support these kinds of more experimental games, even if it doesn't turn out to be an amazing game.

Bound was around the area that Rouge Galaxy & Edith Finch were stationed at so the latter had a lot more people waiting to play it; as a result I played about 30 minutes of it before I needed to tap out and head to my PSVR reservation.

What I played was essentially a platformer with ballet movement. There are enemies to avoid and boss fights as well. The soundtrack and tempo of the movement along the platforming was pretty zen. I really want to play more of it.

Looks neat and original, they could've used 10 minutes more at the conference for showing off some indie stuff and bring some balance to all them violent games, which were awesome for the most part though, but still.
