Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

looks great and all but the fact that you get tools from exploring the world is worrying me
i'm used to get the tools by playing the dungeons or doing a quest, i haven't played Skyword Sword and i don't know if it was like this, and the climbing is really not a good idea in my opinion

It's a new game. They have been making games of that sort for decades now. And while it's a fine design, I also like that they are trying something new.

Yeah it really looked awful. I think nitendonis showing that their teams can't handle hd higher quality asset development. they should really just stick to phone portable quality assets in the future. I think they just aren't able to keep up. Big empty world and lots of blur.

So many Debbie downers. Kind of ludicrous to be honest. The amount of overexaggeration over how bad it is, is just laughable. The game looks great and the subtitle is great.

Looks really great. Loved the mechanics on display.

The color palette is a lot more subdued ala Shadow of the Colossus or ICO than what I expected though.

That item jingle's gonna get old real quick. LOL

Edit: OK, only happens the first time you find a new item. Not every time. That's good!

How are you guys translating this?

Nintendo posted a teaser image for the game that had the ancient text written across it. Another GAFer deduced that it said THELEGENDOFZELDA repeatedly based on repeating symbols.

That let me translate all of the symbols except U and S, which I guessed since those complete the words.

Anybody else notice the other dark circles on the zoomed in map? Looked like points of interest, maybe treasure chests?

There were quite a lot of them...

Just said the same thing, but that's good to hear. Hoping it's not like SS/TP where it resets every time you start up the game, lol

Loot!
Crafting!
Survival!
Weapon durability!

It's everything I never wanted in a Zelda game. And those constantly interrupting windows with that dang jingle every single time holy fucking shit somebody make it stop.

They said the popup is one time only (thank god).

I can't believe this is all they had to show and a bad looking game that isn't coming out for a year. This must be what it was like to be a Sega fan in 1997.

"you can play this entire game without hunting innocent animals."

Ok. Music to my ears. Hunting can be a choice
And not required.

(I still acknowledge I have no moral high ground in relationship to this subject. It just gives me some cognitive dissonance that's hard to put my finger on, so I'm relieved it's not a requirement. The subtitle had me worried for a more morbid take somehow.)
