Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 2016 Thread [*LIVE*] (No childish commentary allowed)

Why would bustling towns make any sense whatsoever in a post-apocalyptic/ruined Hyrule overworld?

I'm sure there will be small settlements or some shit

This really is unacceptable. My blood is boiling.

No towns? That's not a stylistic decision. That's because Nintendo has to meet a deadline at this point.

4 dungeons? This game will probably be over in 6 hours.

No overworld music? I play these games for the music. So that it can fill my soul and make me a better adventurer. If I wanted to hear bug and bird noises, I'd go outside to hear that shit! Play the music, for Christ's sake!

I'm really tired of all Nintendo's bullshit. They just don't "get it".

Link asleep for 100 years?

So now we have influences from:

The Last Airbender
Skyrim
Monster Hunter
Assassin's Creed
Dark Souls
Metroid Prime
and, most importantly, the very first Zelda

Give this game to me noooow

First game I thought of was Crystalis.

Have we seen Zeldo herself yet? I've been out with family today.

Nah, nothing yet. We've probably only heard her voice. But if you're gonna tune into a stream I'll just let you know in advance that the framerate on the youtube one is awful. Watch the twitch one if you're going too.

I hope Takahashi from XenobladeX is taking notes from Zelda. XCX should've been like this. Well... actually a JRPG version of Mass Effect but I'll shut up. Anyway, this looks great!

Hopefully like Sweetdonuts suggested, something like a timeshift stone near every ruined village so you can explore it before and after the apocalypse

Also, for those worried about villages. From Eiji Aonuma:

“I can't share too much about villages because to tell you how the villages work, they're interconnected to the story and overall world.”

I bet you the no towns rumor was because Aonuma told the guy that there would be no towns at E3, because they don't want to show story. People are too reactionary lol

No towns seems to be fake. THe only source we have is a random gaf poster, and it directly contradicts an IGN interview where Aonuma said he's not willing to talk about them since they tie into the story

I don't know anymore

I can't believe female link will be the only voice acted npc that you can only talk to outside of the final fourth dungeon with a town in the background that you can't access. What a shitty garbage pile of a smelly game. Thanks, Reggie.

I like how during the segment where they talk about they wanted to avoid having the game telling you what to do, in game the voice was telling Link what to do.

Granted it didn't railroad Link down that path but it was still funny. :p

Nintendo doesn't get the game that they are making and you have never played before?

Yeah it's been in development so long they have now decided to say fuck it it's only zelda.

Anyone have any idea what the "sound meter" down to the right would be for? Stealth element?

When I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, that's when you know E3 is here.

If there are no towns, who are the wood cutters leaving their axes everywhere?

Anyone else noticing that the sound quality has gone a bit bad?

Wasn't there something like a small village shown in the E3 this game was revealed in? There were a few NPCs there too.

This is tag-fishing satire, right?
I can never tell anymore.

I'm really impressed by everything we've seen til now ... really. I guess i own Aonuma an excuse, as i didnt expect him to deliver a real different, fresh Zelda. That focus on Zelda 1 translated to 3D, lovely.

If the dungeons, the bosses and the chars can keep up, this might become my favorite 3D Zelda.

Given the thing about no towns and the villages being part of the story makes me think there is a town building system. Would be neat.

4 dungeons I believe is rumored but not confirmed. We get 100+ mini-dungeons, though.

The no town thing isn't quite confirmed, there are some inconsistencies between that statement and this one from Eiji Aonuma:

“I can't share too much about villages because to tell you how the villages work, they're interconnected to the story and overall world.”

Perhaps they mean towns and villages as two different things, but this statement doesn't make it sound like there are definitely no populated areas with buildings.

Not this shit.....sigh
