do we have an update on VA and towns?
I am still a little bit worried about puzzles...the mini dungeon looked cool but I'd like to see more

I can see now why they've gone for in-menu insta-healing, rather than having animated eating and drinking.
With such a wide range of ingredients inventory management could get Monster Hunter levels of complex, especially in a bigger battle.

Not that that would have been a bad thing as such, personally I like the Monster Hunter inventory, but I'm betting they tried the old item method first and then decided this way improved the experience overall.

Bomb fishing.

I'm surprised people would call this world gamey. I haven't played Witcher or anything like that so I can't compare, so maybe people are just talking about item usage and things like that. But the world itself seems to be structured to mimic a more realistic style, especially in how the different areas gradually give way into something else entirely.

It's "gamey" in that it's highly interactive. You can start wildfires, throw bombs in lakes to go "bomb fishing", chop down trees, knock beehives down and set free swarms of bees. This is the type of open world interaction people mean when referencing games like Ultima 7.

It's only "gamey" in comparison to the extremely non-interactive worlds of games like Elder Scrolls. These are games where your interaction with the world is very flat. Your interaction is limited to combat and a few other interactions, like decorating a house.

Yup. There's towns, but they won't show them on the E3 demo.

The real part of the interview from Aonuma about towns :

He also wouldn’t talk about towns. “I can't share too much about villages because to tell you how the villages work, they're interconnected to the story and overall world.” Thankfully, Aonuma did tell us the upgrade path for equipment is “very Zelda-like” but that’s it.

My only complaint about this completely amazing showing is that I feel like the Stamina bar is a bit annoying/distracting. Still wish there could be a visual cue on link or something rather than a green circle being around his head all the time

Towns/villages are tied into the story Aonuma said and they're not talking about story today.

I like a lot of what I'm seeing. I'm just worried about what I'm not seeing, which are the things that make Zelda for me. It's an awkward way to be. Just a couple tidbits about dungeons and economy/town questing could make me very pleased with this showing but without them...

I get why they are skipping on some stuff and I don't want to see too much of it but...some interviews as to the macro gameplay structure and denying or clarifying 4 dungeon rumor would be much appreciated.

Link being able to cut down trees was something Miyamoto wanted to do way back in the CD version of OoT, cool to see it finally come to fruition.

Of course back then Miyamoto wanted those trees to stay cut down forever, which I doubt this game has.
