About that PlayStation Best of E3 Sale. Please help me out here. Yay or nay?
$9.99 Shadow of Mordor GOTY
$7.99 Shadow of Mordor
$5.99 Need for Speed: Rivals
$5.99 The Order: 1886
$5.99 Dragon Age: Inquisition
$4.49 Child of Light

Kind of don't know. Taking a glimpse at their reviews and quick looks at the moment.

I was on the edge of buying Shadow of Mordor on launch.
The last Need for Speed I played was Hot Pursuit 2010, I really liked that one.
No real feelings about 1886. The reveal trailer was cool.
Don't think I'm a fan of the Dragon Age battle system, not sure the world can lure me. But then again, haven't tried it before.
I played that other UbiArt war game on release. Was a one nighter, liked it, looking back at it though, maybe didn't like it too much.
I absolutely loved Child of Light. I wouldn't watch the quick look as it spoils the best reveal in the game.

The tricaster is broken on Gamespot's second stage and they are doing it all VoD instead of live.

Pretty big spanner in the works!

Danny said on the Mixlr stream that they have a mostly new video team this year because a lot of people left a couple months ago.

Probably a bunch of headless chicken running in circles right now.

is that sale in EU aswell? I would buy the order for that price (well in euros)

Not surprised, thought what they showed looked super boring.
Yeah, I thought the demo was underwhelming. Like, I don't want to take video of my runs and post it on social media or issue some dumb challenge about a jump I took. This is a personal taste thing, but this "make your own route/course/fun" stuff doesn't do a lot for me, I'd rather see some more focused stuff. I'll still keep and eye on it though.

Something's up with the main feed too, they've completely skipped the Injustice 2 segment.

Injustice looking like you'd expect..I'm in for another one of those. Hopefully there's some stages that aren't as dark as the ones they are showing.

Plus Atrocitus hangs out with rage kitty.

Not too surprised about Steep impressions. It seemed like the extreme sports equivalent of modern Need for Speed.

Rivals is very similar to NFS HP 2010. Not as good, but easily worth $6.
I absolutely loved Child of Light. I wouldn't watch the quick look as it spoils the best reveal in the game.
Shadow of Mordor is a totally "ok" game. I liked it well enough but I never even finished it.

The Order is like a Quantic Dream game with third person shooting instead of opening cupboards and picking dialogue choices. It's very much an interactive movie. I enjoyed my time with it (aside from the abrupt ending) but I understand why most didn't.

DA:I is hard to recommend to someone not already invested in Dragon Age. I imagine the game will feel very "flat" if you're not going in with an attachment to the world and major characters. The combat is kind of... whatever. It tries to be an action RPG and a pausing, tactical RPG, but doesn't succeed at either. Melee combat feels weightless (archery is the most enjoyable way to play the game IMO), the open-world aspects of the game are completely throwaway (even many of DA2's side quests have more going on with them), most of your party members feel underutilized from a narrative perspective (Vivienne in particular)...

Those are my major complaints with DA:I and, despite its issues, I still enjoyed the game (and platinumed it). It's absolutely worth $6 if you're in the mood for a BioWare game that has some pointless open-world (and Assassin's Creed style menu driven "send people out on a mission, wait in real time for them to return") stuff thrown in.
Thanks. Will take it under consideration.
Gonna finish up watching their videos and then make a decision.

Rorie played Inquisition on UPF. They talked about The Substitute and Jose Conseccose's finger. Good stuff.

Edit: Cool, thanks Salarians.

I liked the Order: 1886 somewhat (mostly for the graphics, sound, music, setting, and weapons), but it was not worth the price in my opinion. However, I definitely think it's worth it at that price.

Do they need a reasoning? No not really, but it's about the most basic a character can get so the excuse to not have options gets more and more ridiculous. It'd be like the Pokémon games still not having the options.

I just don't think they need options for the main character in the Legend of Zelda. If you play as Zelda, I could understand that but most of the talk seems to be people hanging on Female Link in a way that doesn't make sense to me.

They don't need a female protagonist when the game stars Link every time. No one seems that interested in playing a different character, just a different Gender for the same character. It would be like people asking for female Mario instead of just asking for a new female character to play as. Link doesn't need to be a different Gender than he has been for 25 years; what they need is a new female lead for a new game or series.

I totally agree the explanation was crap. They should have just not tried to create and explanation when there really isn't one.
Nintendo should have just said 'you will play as Link throughout this new game' and that's all they need to say.

They're showing some more of the Zelda cooking/crafting on the Treehouse stream. To start a campfire you put down firewood and flint, and then the flint with your sword. I love it!

They tried to gather mushrooms and a giant rock golem miniboss rose out of the ground with no warning, and then they Shadow of the Colossused it to hit its weak point, but got thrown off and killed with one hit.

Do you happen to have a timestamp?

I literally stumbled upon it after making this post. It was, umm, 15 minutes ago? Don't know how to timestamp life streams.

Huh, watching the PS4 launch stream for Need for Speed Rivals which is looking good btw, think I will pick that one up.

And Patrick mentions that Valve was interested in putting biometric sensors in the Steam controller. But that didn't work out because your fingers get sweaty. However the earlobe would be perfect for that and Valve would consider this for a headset solution.
Wonder if that's completely off the table yet or will maybe be reconsidered for future hardware revisions.

I think the reason people say femalet's Link is just because he's already such a blank slate of a character. That's why it seems so dumb. He doesn't talk, he doesn't have personality. I'm the least caring person about this stuff, I just think the reasoning and arguments against are just so dumb. It's such a non character.
