Using that ice rune to open up that gate from the bottom up was ace. Good stuff.



Maybe there are special non-rune non-shieka slate items hidden within these shrines.
But even then I think it's reasonable to assume that most of these shrines won't give you any items outside of the spirit MacGuffins.

I imagine many will give heart containers and other stuff like that instead. I feel like the runes might even be limited to early shrines, since most of the row that showed up in selecting them today was filled up by bombs+Cryosis+Magnesis+stasis. Though that might be a demo thing

What is this, Kingdoms of Amalur?!

If people haven't seen it, more of the story develops and you can see off screen footage of it being played at E3. Everything from climbing the first tower and 'a light' talking to you from within Hyrule Castle plus a swarming cloud of dark magic that has eyes and horns. The old man than arrives and tells you it is called the 'Calamity Ganon'. It also reveals Link has been asleep for 100 years.

I'm guessing that's the whole crux of the plot at first. You're charged with restoring Hyrule, piece by piece.

with all the weapons and crafting mats you find in the world I have 0 doubts we can craft and upgrade a lot of them, make them indesctructible etc.

The demo itself has a timer on it which keeps people trapped within the one region. Nintendo has disabled it on their machine for the treehouse. So aonuma can take people anywhere he likes.
