Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

I'm impressed that Jeff just said "Atrocitus" without laughing. I wonder how long his outburst delayed the appointment when they told him who the villain was.

Speaking of the death of E3, a couple of the Instagram videos GB posted today showed that there's huge spaces with no people. It's really strange.

A opportunistic person would invade that space for giganticore Vive demo stations. Maybe somebody will do so.

I wish RE7 would be just a reboot, it's nothing like RE at all. Unless this demo is nothing like the final game. It feels more like Silent Hill, Condemned.etc

I mean one of the best things about RE is that soundtrack, specifically the first 3 and REmake. RE was always a mix of adventure and survival horror with a dash of cheese and a godly OST.

This is especially true given that they are using none of the main characters and are treating this as a side story. It feels like a half step.

It feels like they slapped RE7 on it just to make it easy for them to market it and let people know like they're taking it "serious" since it's a main game.

e: At the same time, horror RE is better than action RE and we're going to be getting REmake 2 so, yeah. I just wish they return to the roots of the series with updated controls(I'm totally fine with tank controls though).

I don't think they've said any of that.

I got it from the IGN article.

It’s not a separate thing, but we have intentionally made it so that maybe when you first play it you’ll almost think: how could this possibly be related to the rest of Resident Evil? But it is. It is an extension of the series so far. It’s not a reboot. It’s the next main game."

And when I asked would we see any familiar faces – Chris, Jill, Leon – or the nefarious Umbrella Corp?

"Basically no. It’s a whole new set of characters and situations," said Kawata, who has worked on the franchise since 2005's Resident Evil 4. But he did say, "There could be some interesting surprises in store as well." So expect there to be some easter eggs in there at least.
