Final Fantasy XV: Airship Type-F Gameplay Trailer

Since I'm also #TeamHoodedMan regarding main villain talk, there's something very interesting on the Kingsglaive official site:

http://kingsglaive-jp.com/staffcast/

Looking at those names we'll find... Ravus Nox Fleuret. Now it seems his VA (Yuichi Nakamura) is the same person who voice hooded man on E3 2013 trailer.

If this is all true then he is totally connected to Luna. Possibly her brother.

Making a Gundam comparison:

Luna is Relena Peacecraft

Ravus/White hooded man is Zechs Merquise

This is pretty big! I speculated that he was Luna's brother because of the blonde hair, but this is pretty much confirmation.

I wonder if we'll see this again

I'm calling it, those two 'wings' below the car are parts from one of the 'weapon' monsters from FFVII, I think it's Diamond or Ultima Weapon. I'm calling it!!!!

Also, there's a new character named Clarus Amicitia whose very likely to be related to our very own Gladiolus Amicitia. And interestingly enough if you look closely he's actually listed with all the other "antagonists" in the cast listings. Could it possibly be the slicked hair guy from E3 2013?

FFX had FFX-2 world.

hey considering fan reaction you'd think it's a sad turn of events just like the other examples!
Yeah, I honestly forgot about FFX and FFX-2. I'm sure FFXI and FFIVX have different events as well(I know FFIVX has the whole Dalamud summoning event, which would fit). For FFXII, the closest you could say it had to that sort of thing was the
post-Bahamut Fortress world,
which I don't know, wasn't that spectacular. A giant meteor in the sky looming ominously, the countryside being eaten away by time-space holes, the world being a dead, near barren land or covered in dense and dangerous Mist. A
big mech tower hovering near Rabanastre
just doesn't fit that IMO. A world of "eternal darkness", however, does!

FF2 was cool enough to have multiple world changing events.

I haven't played FFII in a long while. I forget, does unleash his demons forces from Hell in the final portion of the game.

Staple on a wing or two and your set.

Doesn't he have a sort of Wing Shield that has been seen in some of the older footage?

PLEASE BE TRUE

I think we speculated awhile back that it was Stella/Luna's brother.

what is even more telling is where he is on the split.
Yeah, I remember as far back as the Versus days, when they FIRST showed he and Noctis square off, people were thinking that he could be Stella's brother.

I hate the bring up the Romeo & Juliet shit, but some were saying(not me, obviously) that they were thinking that he(Ravus) was trying to protect Stella and be Noctis's rival, but would eventually be killed by Noctis, making Stella turn against Noctis.

I hope so! I think that is the final scene, if I had to guess. But it is probably somewhat changed now

Nice catch! Makes a lot of sense. Maybe Gladio's dad was promised something and was tired of being in Regis' shadow or the like

Yup. Many believe he was Noctis's uncle and Regis's brother(more so because the "supposed" Hamlet themes), but if you look at that man's eyes and Gladio's eyes, they are the same color. I noted that both Regis and Noctis have blue eyes, so it kinda fits that he's a older version of the man seen here:

Be cool if Gladiolus turns out to be a traitor or something.

Would be interesting to see more dealings going on within Lucis's ranks.

I kinda had the feeling someone on the inside tipped Niflheim off regarding weak points and how to gain the trust of King Regis.

Another interesting thing is I think I was correct. Not-Cor might just be Drautos.

In the game footage shown today when talking about Kingsglaive's relationship to FFXV, they show a scene from the game where King Regis is seeing Noctis and his friends off. Drautos is right by Regis's side.

And just for a reminder for those who forgot and think that's Cor, this is Cor:

Would be wild if Cor and Drautos were brothers. That would also add to the whole "relation" thing you see with other characters(just like if Luna and Ravus are siblings).

Abysmal image quality. If they can't get their TAA stable like in the Pax Prime 2015 screens they should just go back to the cheaper FXAA they used for Episode Duscae.

They seriously need to move back to that cause their current solution isn't cutting it.

If Ravus is in fact Luna's brother, then wouldn't it follow that he, too, is part of Tenebrae's royal family? I speculated about this in another thread, but it might provide a compelling motive for the character: why would a character, potentially the king-in-exile of occupied Tenebrae, be working with Niflheim against Lucis? I assume he's the link to the broader/older conflict related to the crystals, perhaps along with with Ardyn, since they were seen together without Iedolas in the 2013 trailer.

I'm thinking he might not be so dissimilar from Char Aznable/Edward Mass/Casval Rem Deikun from Gundam, working from inside the enemy and utilizing their resources to achieve his own goals. Char, too, had a sister (Sayla) who was working with the protagonist, with whom she was romantically involved.

Keeping in line with the light/dark naming theme, "Ravus" appears to be some variant on the latin word for Gray, situating him as a character between light and dark – Lucis and Nox.

Edit: Looking into it further, his voice actor even played one of the "Char clones" from the Gundam franchise: Graham Aker, from Gundam 00.

Perhaps he has his own ulterior motives. In the 2013 trailer, he's talking to some giant knight. We don't know what the military force of Tenebrae looks like, but the sigil has a wolf among thorny vines, and the decoration on that knight's armor has a thorny motif.

I mentioned this in a prior thread as well, but I think the wolf – as with the other sigils we've seen, such as the skull-train in Lucis – represents one of the classic Final Fantasy summons; in this case, Fenrir. I'm speculating here, but I think each of the crystal-holding nations has adopted a summon as their sigil: for Lucis, it was Doomtrain (and might still be); for Tenebrae, it seems to be Fenrir.

This symbology – and Luna's connection to Ravus – is backed up by her two dogs, Pryna and (especially) Umbra. I don't think the resemblance between Umbra...
and Fenrir...
is a coincidence. The pattern on the face is especially obvious, in my opinion.

This actually looks likes a pre-rendered cutscene to me using polished up real-time assets as opposed to full CGI.

Kagari, never thought I would be saying this, but bring back Duscae!

Graham Aker was so much more than a char clone (until season 2 ;_; )

I loved season 2 but for completely different reasons than season 1.

All this stuff is making me even more hopeful the leak was wrong because it seemed like way too simple of a story.

First off, most FFs are pretty simple at the core and get more complex due to characters and everything

And secondly it was already confirmed fake.

Altissia looks great. I screamed a little when I saw the VI reference, being a big fan of that game.

And hunts, colloseum, awesome!

Airship is nice, but at the same time you could see the overworld which really did look quite barren and flat.

Agreed that Altissia looks amazing , especially night , makes me feel nostalgic again with Galbadia in FF8 or Treno in FF9 .

Yeah, the Chadarnook call back is pretty awesome.

And what do you mean by flat?

In two minutes of footage we see: large mountain range, rocky coastlines with cliffs, river-cut valley, deep chasm, and variable elevation and interesting rock formations in every region that resembles desert or plane.

The world geometry seems highly varied compared to almost any open world RPG I can think of.
