Final Fantasy XV: Airship Type-F Gameplay Trailer

VIII's probably the closest the numbered game's flirted with having a full on modern world prior to XV as well, so that's probably another reason why it seems to be channelling some of it's atmosphere.

VIII is my personal favorite FF game (dozens of us, etc, etc) anyway, so that's more than welcome in my eyes.

Yeah, also, in terms of visual design, VIII holds up well, whether you like the game or not.

8 is my least favorite, but I do like the visual design. Just don't like how it's realized in-game.

Definitely time for another grounded and realistic looking mainline FF.

FFVII was originally going to have a modern setting. They opted to make it somewhat cyberpunk/dieselpunk setting. I recall Nomura saying that he still kept the idea of a "modern set" FF game in mind, which is why he decided on setting Versus in that type of world.

Same, I may not like FF8as much of other people but it has a great designs that and the music.

I agree, FFVIII is one of my least favorite FF games(was the least favorite until FFXIII took that spot), but the look of the world was never a problem IMO.

Holy shit holy shit holy shit. Okay, so apparently from Gamefaqs there is an active mode aside from wait mode, which actually turns off holding to attack. In that mode, you have to press to attack.

Can anyone here confirm? Best news regarding FFXV for me if true.

The guy said he was there with him but in the video I still see the attack button prompt remain highlighted throughout all of Noct's attacks, so it looks like he was just holding the button. I'm confused as to why he didn't try the game himself considering how excited he sounds about the supposed active battle mode.

Nah I think default just puts it back to active for those who forget which is the default setting.

Where did the Campanile (the big clock tower) go, that is so typical for Venice and certainly a Venice-inspired city? :(

Here with campanile next to the multiple domed cathedral:

And here already without (from the Uncovered event world trailer):

I'm late to the party but this trailer reminded me of Malta

I think I've seen more polished footage of the new Zelda game than I have of FFXV since its re-reveal in 2014.

Slightly concerning when the latter is only 3 months away from release.

I just checked the new screens and I have given up any hope of seeing any good screenshots from the game. Zero hope. I just pray that by miracle, the final game IQ is not as shit as the screenshots.

Game looks beautiful as fuck, especially that Venice-looking city.

But I can't say my interest didn't dampen a bit after watching that gameplay preview from the Microsoft conference. The combat just looked so clunky and boring. Like they were trying to go to something Platinum would make but not leave classic Final Fantasy gameplay completely behind and ending up with some weird hybrid that doesn't seem to do well at all.

People who never go back to Dollet after the landing mission

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit

Wasnt there really no reason to go back there except for a timber magazine or something? (and the heaven island(was called this in the guide book as one of those islands with good/hard enemies and lots of draw points) i believe was near dollet. I'm sure people also missed the shumi village and going to that village laguna was at in disk 2.
