they generally don't announce them in advance since schedules change and people end up cancelling. You can pretty much guarantee Dave Lang, though.

I have to say that watching Jeff with guests on the couch has become my favourite thing of E3. I could skip the conferences and trailers entirely and just watch that and I'd be set.
Everything was solid in my opinion (except EA). Microsoft is very TV-like in their approach. Clean cuts, people saying their games are awesome and so on. It makes sense, that's how MS thinks and they're live on TV. It needs the structure.
Ubi is just Ubi. Crazy, refreshing and quirky.
Sony played it cool this year. Orchestra, trailer after trailer. I loved it. I don't even understand the "well why not just release the trailers on YouTube you guys" arguments. The point of E3 is that everybody watches it at the sane time. I also don't buy the "I wanna hear their story" narrative. You want to hear marketing? Read the press releases/interviews.
When it comes to games overall everything was descent. No big surprises but still cool. People saying Kojima's video project for art class was the highlight are weird to me. Sure, it was intriguing and that's cool but who knows what the game will look like in the end. I would never call this a "hard" game reveal, more like a soft presentation of the key art or something.
Anyway, no tennis game got announced so this E3 was TRASH.
i gotta look it up but i remember both of those dropping on the same day
...Hopefully it wasn't the same Amiibo.

Saw a video of that demo. Guy playing immediately goes "ooooooo" as he leans towards her chest area, followed by tilting his head and looking down and under. It's so brazen I can't fault SE for going for it.

That entire segment was so fucking good. Really some of the best stuff I've seen on Giant Bomb.

Jesus, that last segment. I love that Cara stole Griffin's place and then proceeded to look equal parts distraught and cracking up through the rest of the show.
Still one of the best things Giant Bomb has done at E3 and probably one of the best things on their site. Really really enjoyed this portion of day one.

Man, I'm so happy right now. A month or so ago, my PS3 seemed dead. What happened was I turned off my PS3 using the DualShock 3. The PS3 turned off, but was somehow still outputting to my TV (I could control stuff). That eventually went away. Confused, I went to turn my PS3 back on. It wouldn't. No light. Nothing. Having so many PS3 games (74) and being in no position to replace my PS3, so I just let it sit there, hoping for something. Today, for whatever reason, I decided to unplug the power cord from my surge protector and then put it back in. Voila! My PS3 turned on! It's not dead (well, not yet...). I do need to replace the Blu-Ray though (that's been an issue for a while for me; it takes discs but does not read them), but I'd rather need to replace that than the whole PS3.
