Wait... Is he about to "boot" the motherboard by bridging the power switch pins with a screwdriver??

Isn't this considered good practice to check whether or not CPU/RAM/MoBo are faulty before continuing? lolWait... Is he about to "boot" the motherboard by bridging the power switch pins with a screwdriver??
He's doing a test boot. It's a good practice to make sure that all of the components work first.Wait... Is he about to "boot" the motherboard by bridging the power switch pins with a screwdriver??

That's what I've always done, some mobos have a switch on the board now.Wait... Is he about to "boot" the motherboard by bridging the power switch pins with a screwdriver??
Ya sorry I saw the old scores but was asking those who haven't posted but are here and might be searching for the same fix many of us are. Talking to other folks it looks like a number of people are getting wonky results on both the standlone and steam version.

Base and boost normal for now. Score of 4856 in GFX section which it looks like others are getting more than 5 times that?
3dmark is uninstalled right now as I am doing another wipe.
So my Gigabyte G1 has started doing this:
![]()
it just randomly flickers like that. I really don't want to send this back. I've barely had it over a week![]()
Send it back ASAP. If it goes bad outside of the return period, you're screwed because Gigabyte sucks as RMAs.
Did you try updating to the latest hotfix driver? Perhaps the issue they describe is what you're experiencing?fuuuuck. It was fine after I unplugged it, but just got finished playing Doom for a while (no problems at all) and as soon as I closed the game it's back

As someone who is new to NVIDIA, is the 1080 vastly worth it over the 1070? I am trying to cut down the cost of my new build, but if it's really worth it, I'll spend the cash. I just want to make sure this isn't like the 970/980 incident where the cost was different, but the power you got wasn't much.
Looks similar to mineWhat the fuck is wrong with my 3DMark graphics score? I'm completely baffled as to why mine is so low.

Games run just fine and in line with reviewer benchmarks, so I don't know why my 3DMark is so bad. Core clock says 2101 there, memory clock is 5594.
The 1070 handles 1440p really well too. I'd only look into the 1080 if you're doing 4k or multiple monitors. If you're targeting 1080p60 then a 1070 should be enough. Anything higher then a 1080.

No? You haven't overclocked yours. Look at what x3sphere got.
My reading is that the GTX1080 can't maintain 60 @ 2160p.
Before I sold it off to make way for Pascal, my system was a 980Ti @ 1440p(GSYNC).
But yeah, depends on his target res.
50% higher cost for 20% higher performance (at best).
Oh man. Ouch.

About to do a full re-install of drivers.
I've also just confirmed that it only happens in Chrome when scrolling. Nothing else seems to cause it.
The thing is, you reach a point of diminishing returns, but that point is just where you need a 15% boost to reach 60fps in almost all demanding games. You have to get that 20% boost at a much higher cost though, which is not fishy at all (). That is at least my experience, and I would definitely pay that extra meaningless 200$ for a 15-20% boost if it means avoiding that 50-55fps performance.it is
Okay, so ignore the Chrome thing. It's not entirely there, but mostly there.
I uninstalled all drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller from Guru3D. Immediately flicker was gone. Used the PC normally for over an hour, no flicker at all. Downloaded GeForce Experience and installed latest drivers, and immediately the problem came back.
Why![]()
Unstable OCSeems like my overclock is stable in unigine and 3DMark but sometimes when im playing a game it will crash. The error always has something to do with video drivers. Is this normal?
Seems low, my overclocked GTX 980 Ti gets around 21,490.What the fuck is wrong with my 3DMark graphics score? I'm completely baffled as to why mine is so low.

Well, good news is that it's probably not hardware related.
At least you have a Titan to fall back on. I'm running on integrated here. :/Has anyone gotten any word on a delivery time frame from Amazon?
I ordered the EVGA 1080 ACX 3.0 card (08G-P4-6181-KR) on May 31st for $619.
It's still without even an estimated ship date, and we're approaching week four.
My EK block and backplate arrived a while ago. Ready to upgrade my aging Titan, but just sitting here waiting sucks. Need to stick with Amazon, as I had about $400 in gift cards.

Seems like it's entirely software. All of the videos in this thread show the exact same issue I'm having.

Anyone here with a GTX 1080 2-SLI setup?
How is the scaling?
How is the state of SLI for gaming in general these days?
Worth it or not? If price isn't a big issue.
Any stuttering or other artifacts introduced by SLI?
Definitely an unstable overclock setting. Try testing with FurMark instead.Seems like my overclock is stable in unigine and 3DMark but sometimes when im playing a game it will crash. The error always has something to do with video drivers. Is this normal?

Some games though, like The Witcher 3, simply stress the card in different ways.

Amazon basically took orders before they even started to have anythinmg coming in. It could be next week, August, or anything in-between.
Dunno, maybe 6-8 months? When is 1080ti coming out? I want to upgrade my 980ftw.
