They only beat an AJ Feeley led team who had Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis as his primary wide receivers by 3 points.

They had several chances throughout the season where they could/should/would have lost. They were bound to get beat that season.

But who cares, fuck 'em. And fuck Gata.
 
73-9. The Warriors beat the Cavs 7 straight games going back to last year's Finals, then lost 4 out of the next 5. The Warriors had the first UMVP. The Warriors are the first team in the Finals to lose after being up 3-1. That was the first time the Warriors lost 3 games in a row since 2013, and 2 of them were at home.
 
Sorry but 73-9 is much much worse. Warriors were up 3-1, had the finals MVP and lost three games in a row, two of which were at home.

Anybody who has ever watched football understand that in one game anything can happen.

Best record in NBA history. Needs to win 1 game out of the next 3 with 2 home games, an arena that has the highest home winning percentage of any arena in the last two years against a team you beat 7 games straight going back to the playoffs last year.

On an individual basis, Curry performed much, much worse than Brady did, even if we are debating biggest choke job for a team. Brady at least got his team the lead late. Meanwhile, Curry inceptioned--choking within a choke. Dude was exposed, plain as day.


Still, fuck Brady.
 
Warriors had the bigger choke because of the 7-game series format vs. the one game. On top of that they were up 3-1 with 2 of the remaining 3 at home. Both teams were showing cracks before the end though.
 
I think it has to be Warriors, underdogs rarely win a series in the NBA and they had a 3-1 lead with 2 home games left to close out the Cavs. For the Patriots it was just one game on a neutral field.

The Patriots were head and shoulders above a league known for its parity and lost to a team that barely snuck into the playoffs at 10-6.

The Warriors lost to a team that was still the best in its conference with a generational talent.

I'm not a fan of any of the 4 teams but if you ask this again in 5 years, you'll get a much different response.

And really, the '94 Nuggets beating the Sonics was a bigger upset in the NBA alone.

Super bowl is one game on a neutral field.

GSW lost 3 in a row, two at home. GSW, the best offensive team, didn't score in the last 4 minutes of the game. Steph curry, unanimous MVP, disappeared in the 4th quarter.

Pats lost on one of the luckiest catches of all time (that was helped by the refs not calling multiple holding calls). GSW lost by a systematic collapse.

Rank the 4 teams in terms of talent. Put the records aside, instead looking at things like future HOFers, how they stack against their league, etc.

1)Pats-- Brady, Moss, the Hoodie, can make a case for Seymour and Wilfork. Vraebel and Bruschi make the Hall of Very Good.

2)Cavs-- LeBron, Kyrie, and to a much lesser extent on this team but still a top talent elsewhere, Love.

3)Warriors-- Curry, then a step down to Thompson/Green.

4)Giants-- Strahan and Eli (who would only be up there in large part because of that upset)
 
Anyone saying 18-1 isn't a sports fan. No home field advantage in the final game and it's a one-and-done situation. Warriors loss is far more embarrassing because of how they lost it given they had a 3-1 lead and seven games to win/lose it.
 
Certainly 73-9. Don't mean shit if you can't bring home the ring.

And especially considering blowing a 3-1 lead in the series with home court advantage. All-around disappointment.
 
I think Giants beating the Pats is the bigger upset,bu GSW losing a 3-1 lead to Cavs is the bigger choke. 3-0 Yankees red socks is still the biggest choke for me that shit still hurts.
 
I feel like a lot can happen to alter the course of ONE football game. But, being up 3-1 and having two home games left is a pretty massive collapse.

Anybody could lose a football game, any given sunday and all that. I mean, they lost to maybe the GOAT Super Bowl play.

But to be up 3-1 in the NBA Finals, and to lose 3 straight...2 at home...nobody in the history of the NBA have ever choked like that. To be the best offensive team in NBA history and put up NOTHING in the final four minutes of the game!? For the unanimous MVP to disappear and do stupid shit like this in vitally important possessions!?!?

Didn't the Warriors go 15-9 in the playoffs? If so, they equaled their season losses over 82 games in just 24 games in the playoffs. They definitely didn't maintain their dominance when it actually mattered.

Well 4 of those losses were against the Cavs, which pretty much qualifies as a meltdown.

Losing three games in a row is worse than losing one. Especially in sports where anything can happen on any given night.

Best regular season record of all-time, UMVP, first team to lose Finals series being up 3-1, best home-court winning percentage going on for two years, UMVP not showing up at game 7 while getting worked on by Kyrie throughout the series.
 
There's something different about being truly undefeated until the very last game that probably stings more but losing 3 games in a row after being up 3-1 is a worse defeat.

Pats had one bad game. If they played a series they would have won.
