Did you vote for the side that is going to win?

Results are only viewable after voting.

I normally take nil interest in such things..

How does 1032 people represent millions?

Going off polls after what happened at the GE not even a year ago is a bit foolish though it "can" sometimes give some idea of whats going on in peoples heads. It is like you say only 1k people though.

Even going off that i am not confident on which side i can call to win.

The other two this morning with Leave winning were online like YouGovs. I've always had more faith in the telephone polling, so banking on ComRes being right.

That doesn't work though, the soup is the same throughout whereas the population changes from person to person.

But if the formula is correct, then the demographic mix is representative as a bowl of soup as it should be the same all the way down.

God, I've never been more worried about the results of a vote in my life and I'm a mere filthy EU nacional living in London :(

Please, don't let the UK leave The EU :(
Same here. I'm generally indifferent come election time, but I couldn't be more petrified right now.

Will be heading off nice and early in the morning. Pretty sure we're fairly strong for leave around here and I have no particular desire to be up there when it's busier.

These polls are very different to the GE though.
Not sure if that makes then more, or less likely to be right mind:)

I want to believe. These figures don't match previous polls so I'm staying pessimistic.

Oh and that bullshit about the EU not being reformable has spread to Facebook like a plague.

I have a feeling the debate last night changed some minds, the inability to answer questions raised doubts in peoples minds, exactly what remain wanted.

Yeah I seen that earlier, which is why I ask, how do any of these tiny polls have any significance?

Very simply. If there is a population of 1 million and 50% are red and 50% are blue and you randomly selected a 1,000 of the population it is reasonable to expect the 1,000 to reflect the population to within a window of accuracy.

We had a good run lads!.

The Twitter poll doesn't matter because it's Twitter, do you think old age pensioners some of the most reliable voters will use that. It's like thinking Bernie will win because of his internet presence, that ultimately really doesn't matter.

The thing being said animal rights IIRC Conservative MEPs or MPs were actually ones to vote against having a maximum journey time for animals due for slaughter. So the person wants to leave and give conservatives more power in this field? Oh you can vote against them...I've been doing that for 10 years and fttp says lol u live in safe seat.

Do do doo, do do doo do do do doo.

That music as he walks off gets me every time.
Thanks to frinkiac I now know it is reprise of the Sandford and Son theme song.

It's based off a real life incident with comedian Redd Foxx who walked on stage to the tune, saw a fairly empty audience, refused to do the show and walked off the stage again leaving a confused orchestra to play the theme song again.

ExPat, now living in Trumpton (USA): I've been assuming the Bremain people would win. Are we seeing the Brexit people winning? Seriously?
The problem leave keep saying things like "we're not racist for wanting controlled migration" but some of the supports are all "just get them in the plane and get them out my great Britain" and will vote on that reason.

The twitter responses to the polls are ridiculous, brexiters calling pullers liars, saying all kinds of shit. I really have to say my eyes have been opened to a lot of the Out supporters, frankly they live in a world of their own completely devoid of any logic and full of conspiracy theories.

Seems that article has been edited since i least read it i stand corrected.

Reread. What he is actually saying is that if the UK votes out there won't be any extra negotiation for the UK to stay. It even says it in the damn article:

It is understood Mr Juncker was not referring to the prospect of future reforms in the event of the UK voting to remain in the EU, something Mr Cameron has insisted will continue, including in the key area of immigration and free movement.

Far from all of them, I'd warrant.

That is, however, where a great proportion (I'd be willing to bet) of the anti-politics, anti-intellectual, anti-rationalist, anti-takeyourpick, groupings of voters reside, from conspiracy theorists to rabid nationalists to radical libertarians to tiny minority fundamentalists.

Racist/xenophobic/anti-European/pro-Anglo-Saxon, whatever term you prefer.
The 'Heart' bit of the speech was very short and while pretending to be positive was essentially just setting up 'us' and 'them'. It's obviously by far NOT the worst thing we've seen in this campaign, and it wasn't the worst thing in his speech (I'd give that to the 'democracy' bits), but it still made my skin crawl.

fwiw Lord Michael Heseltine agrees with you. (8m45s if time stamp doesn't work)

Remain 8% lead

It is over, well done

Not yet mate.

I've been voting for 20 years & I've never felt this nervous. Heck I don'the think I was this nervous when I asked my wife to marry me!

Though tbf we'do been talking about children and wedding venues for years by that point!

Oh I agree there are plenty of nice sensible straight thinking brexiters with genuine complaints which I do understand and agree with no certain things, but others damn it's like one flew over the cuckoos nest sometimes.

Some of the Brexiters have hit Birther levels of delusion. We've already got some of them saying the vote's rigged and it hasn't even happened yet!

Leave would fuck over quite a few international students on my course at Uni, but in general Remain would be better for me and the people I know/care about.

Finished the first year of my course but still getting up early tomorrow to go polling station, otherwise I feel i'm liable to wake up late, binge watch Person of Interest then realize I missed it all

Also has anyone gone to a polling station to vote before having lost their polling card? I suppose i need to bring a form of ID (would NUS Card count?_)

You don't need id.

It should say on the card "you do not need to bring this polling card with you to vote"

They are likely to tick off as you go in, I would just carry my debit card with me.

You don't need a polling card and don't need ID. Just turn up. to the right polling station.

I usually take the polling card just because it speeds things up a bit in a busy polling station, but it isn't necessary.
