I'm sure if we do leave people up here (North East) will wonder why we're all worse off (Working class)

Same shit all the time, vote for things and then act surprised at them happening

Thanks to the guy who keeps saying wait for London, it makes me feel better.

I was born and live in the US, but am a UK citizen and might lose my EU citizenship tonight.

The knife in the back scenario is Scotland vote Leave to get the UK out of the EU than separate from the UK in the next referendum so they can rejoin the EU.

It doesn't really work if the majority of Scottish people vote out though but that has possibly escaped some people into doing the silly thing.

No, the two are entirely separate. What is likely is if Scotland votes to remain and the UK as a whole votes to leave, the SNP will use this as a basis to say another referendum should be called.

Yeah, that's what I was assuming with my question, that Scotland would vote Remain, Leave wins, and they're like "Well, screw this, we tried to stick with the rest of you but it seems irreconcilable now."

Holy shit. I was in this thread about an hour ago thinking we'd have a sure answer. Is it really that close right now?! What's it looking like?!

-Love from across the pond.

Ironically, Scotland being majority Leave would mean that the SNP will probably refuse to hold a second referendum on the grounds of Scotland agreeing with the majority.

I booked £500 worth of currency (that I can cancel within 28 days without a fee) about five minutes before the Sunderland declaration.

Phew!

Excuse the personal question, but a particular currency like dollar or some sort of instrument thing? I've never heard anyone saying they bought "general" currency, that's why I'm asking.

And this is half the problem like I said before, I don't understand how people are so confident in either vote, nobody actually knows what is going to happen either way so to judge people for remaining or leaving is rather sad.

The only calculated possibility at this point is leaving will effect the economy short term, that's about it, the rest is all guess work, yet we have people here calling peoppe xenophobic or racist or any other number of things, ridiculous.
No, we objectively know the economy is going to be hurt for years if the UK leaves. That's not even a discussion. That's millions of lives and jobs impacted for nothing.

I checked this thread like 2 hours ago and it seemed like it would be an easy win for remain, but now everyone here is in full panic.

What the hell happened?

There's like a 2 year transition period, it's not like overnight. C'mon.

The negotiations take two years, but the effects on livelyhood are instance. A lot of companies are going to take action quickly because of the uncertainty around what will happen in the case of Brexit. Many companies also have contracts that are only vaild if Remain wins.

Apparently my local area in South Wales (Vale of Glamorgan) is edging towards a "Leave" vote.

Not surprising, this place (Barry, same dive Gavin & Stacey was filmed in) is a fucking shithole and I regret moving here last year.

Well that's my share and potentially my career fucked!

I work for one of the massive uk companies that publically came out and said leave would be pretty disastrous for us.

Bank worker myself so this is frightening.

My mum's best mate is a manager at JP Morgan. Apparently her bosses came down for meetings a week ago and basically told them to vote to remain and hope everyone does the same for the sake of their jobs.

Not sure if that's a common thing recently in the banking sector

Can't see Leave winning tbh.

Leave have results back from areas where they were expected to win so they're rightly surging ahead but Remain will boss it. 5/382 declared and none of the remain strongholds declared yet.

I wonder if any leave voters are beginning to have regrets after hearing how spooked the markets are. This is only the beginning if leave do win tonight.
