It is pretty much over. Remain was expected to have a slim lead at this point but Leave js doing much better than expected and is pulling away. Still early but all signs pointing to Brexit.

Well that's pretty damn hyperbolic. This is nowhere close to being over.

Not really. This is basically still before California, Texas, and NY are counted in the EC, and long before Ohio and Florida come in to decide it.

God fucking damnit, Britain... What are we doing to ourselves?! First we vote in Cameron, and now we're looking to leave Europe!?

Bah, I'm moving to Iceland.

Was surprised to see Basildon leave

Seems overall it's 52% leave 48% remain at the moment. I really thought it would be around 60% remain 40% leave.

Before people get worried, I seem to recall the Scottish ref and another vote look very close at the start but then the real picture started to unfold. You could still get many areas vote remain in a row over the course of the night

As a yes voter I remember being really despondent by this point in the night.

Labour trying to blame the SNP already. lol. Fuck off. Scotland are helping right now.

Exactly. It's a bunch of horseshit. Oh Scotland, you didn't vote /enough/ even though there's not enough of you to tip the balance against the North of England.... :/

This is a great example of why Labour is so done in Scotland.

A comment like this fundamentally displays the lack of perspective from remain voters.
Not really. Every fucking economist on the fucking planet has been slowly explaining the reality to brexitiers for months now but hey furrieners. I'm not particularly bothered I have options unlike dumb fuck in sunderland or the poor fucker who has to go for an annuity next week. But hey Muslims or something

If Leave wins out it's kinda telling what the country thinks about some of its leadership - cause the major powers that be are pulling for remain, both inside Britain and in the EU.

But the press is controlled by a handful of rich non-doms that have way too much influence, and want The UK to leave the EU as they have little influence there.

This is our Trump moment. Sad that the world has suddenly taken a (racist) turn for the worst.

What happened?

Neoliberal austerity measures and unhinged capitalism fucking everyone over followed by racists and neo-nazi opportunists using inequality and "culture" to blame brown and black people

There is nothing positive I could ever say to you. In person I would be prone to immediate violence. This country is utterly fucked because of people like you.

Don't be ridiculous.

Your post is the kind of behaviour and language that makes me ashamed of being english, not those who voted leave.

We? I dunno if you noticed but the entire of scotland was like a giant SNP yellow lightbulb. We didn't give Cameron anything :p

we're leaving. this is 2015 all over again where you wait up in hope for a few results to change things as it's a surprising result but instead the clear trend just becomes stronger and stronger over time (better turnout in leave areas, leave over-performing or performing on expectations) and it all descends into political retribution.

True. But at this point Remain was supposed to have been maintaining a decent lead and yet Leave doing much stronger than predicted. What site are you guys using for your results? Here in canada the coverage is limited.
