This kids life is ruined over Dallas PD's stupid kneejerk reaction.

There are images now of him giving over his gun as well now.

I need sleep. I hope they catch this person still loose before morning. I hope this doesn't get worse as well.

infowars is hell of a drug

when they first came out they were the most disregarded and laughed at trash site. And now 20 years later longevity I guess. I swear he was worst than the worst. Now the old fringe/metaphysics sites that actually had professors and scientists is long dead, and he's a millionaire many times over.

Fuck, that clip of the suspect running up close to the cop and shooting him is like straight out of a movie. This shit is crazy right now.

just that clip alone shows how trained these guys are imo

dude moved and simply out maneuvered the cop, forced the cop to hide behind the pillar and was able to run behind him. By the time the cop peaked out of the cover the shooter was already directly behind him, it's insane.

How stupid do you have to be to wear camo in this situation? I honestly don't even understand how four people could come together and do this. Hope everyone who lives in Dallas stays safe.

This will probably be my last post on GAF because of posts I've seen from moderators regarding police officers, but I really fucking hope this will at least help change the minds of a lot of users and moderators alike about cops. There is never a ban penalty here for painting vicious broad strokes encompassing all of law enforcement. There were cops protecting the very people who oppose them tonight, and it disgusts me to think this will still not earn them respect from others.

RIP to the victims tonight and good luck to any cop that willingly puts on their badge tomorrow just like every other day.

I'd like to think that but Sandy Hook. Sandy Hook. If killing a bunch of children couldn't make them budge I'm not sure anything can. I'm sure some idiot will just go "But if everyone had a gun then none of this would have happened!"

The only way, ironically, that maybe they'd break was if it turns out the attackers are non-white after all, like the reaction after the BPP started toting.

So sad, Obama tearing up again about Sandy Hook a few months ago and still not being able to get anything done was heartbreaking. Only way I can see it happening is if Police unite with the anti gun establishment to take on the NRA: Officers aren't safe with this kind of firepower on the streets and I don't think even Republicans would want to be seen as anti-Cop.

So what exactly is the scenario of the suspect they're in negotiations with? What are they negotiating and why is that not being filmed or available with more info ? Sorry not at home atm so I don't have access to news coverage from tv

It's generally a bad idea to broadcast active situations to the public.

I don't think the Omni Hotel should be displaying that "Back the Blue" message. As tragic as this is, the wording of it shows a sort of "the police are in the right" mentality. Like there's only one side to the tragedies unfolding in the U.S.

You'd never see a "Black Lives Matter" display of that size on any hotel.

It's legal to buy body armor in Texas, so long as you haven't been convicted of a felony.
Afaik it's technically legal but not normal to sell it to civilians that don't have security jobs etc, but I guess it wouldn't matter if he could find a shady store

I don't even know what to think about any of this shit anymore. This country is full of morons. Any time something has a chance of changing some bullshit just happens to set things back. We inch up a hill only to slide back down when some rain hits.

It's pretty bad. Infrastructure is a joke, race relations are abysmal... worst Presidential candidates ever.

1.
(of an animal or force of nature) fierce, violent, and uncontrolled.
"tales of a savage beast"
synonyms: ferocious, fierce; More

What's wrong with calling the shooter a savage?
Origin of the word (along with Barbarian) was from a heavy bias of race/language and over the centuries if just change who people think of associated with these words

Its ridiculous.

When stuff like this happens year, after year, after year, after year. On a smaller or larger scale. That this country truly shows its self as a whole from the very top to the bottom. They forget or its vaguely remembered or anecdotal at best every time. While other places in the world take quick action.

Yup. Body armor really isn't a hard thing to get. Some states make it as impossible as they can but all someone has to do is drive to another state or have someone out of state buy it and then pick it up. It's kind of like guns in that regard. Hell just google buy body armor and you'll turn up websites you can buy it on.

Terrible. I can't parse this any more than to just be really sad. I hope that the injury and fatality counts don't go any higher.

Stay safe, Dallas-GAF.

Odd you would say that because nothing in your post (regarding police) is controversial in the slightest.

There are good cops and bad cops. Not sure why you think the bad ones should be ignored.

At this point I would be surprised if the shooters were not militia types. That kind of planning, the weapons used, it all points to people who obsess over this kind of thing, not people who "have had enough with police brutality."

Obsessives don't tend to be trained. They tend to be basement dwellers.

The way that one suspect moved screams military training and experience to me.

Most of those are all bluster though.

Even among those that aren't, I couldn't imagine them striking at cops in Dallas though. They would probably go after the police who went after the Bundy's in that standoff in Oregon. And more likely the ATF and other federal agents.

Agreed. Look at last night's Sterling thread. Another GAF shit-show for the ages.

"The end is coming." I hear people babbling about end times crap all the time around these parts. Having that be the first thing he said gave me chills.

I don't know what kind of crazy is behind this, but tonight has been horrific. Stay safe.

I'm a resident of Connecticut, Sandy Hook was not far from me. I can get there in the time it takes to watch an episode of anime, or simpsons.

After Sandy Hook, there's no hope at all for Republicans to do the right thing. None at all

I was in Newtown High School at the time, which Sandy Hook is just a section of. It scares me that not only Lanza easily could have come to my school, but that even when 20 small children and 6 teachers die, the politicians of my country that supposed to pass laws to keep us safe do NOTHING just because of lobbying money. Everything surrounding that day and more recently Orlando has me convinced there will never be change. It's fucking depressing.

It just one of the many reasons this stuff will continue. The attack will be used to paint over the incidents that began this and nothing will be solved.

I hope everyone is ready for this ride to continue when the next black person becomes a hashtag.

Militia-types usually train for this stuff, I'm not talkin bout internet forum trolls here, like back-woods "i got a bug bag" doomsday prepper types.

I'm not going to speculate on the motives of the attackers but I do want to say that this assault on police officers might finally make the GOP take up gun control legislation.

You mean it will make lawmakers take up further Police militarization laws, and giving them more authority with less accountability.

That's all I see coming out of this.

You really think this is the time and the place to whine about GAF moderation?
Get some perspective man.
