What? Downtown is going to be shutdown for the foreseeable future.
Uh why is downtown being shutdown in a different city?

This will probably be my last post on GAF because of posts I've seen from moderators regarding police officers, but I really fucking hope this will at least help change the minds of a lot of users and moderators alike about cops. There is never a ban penalty here for painting vicious broad strokes encompassing all of law enforcement. There were cops protecting the very people who oppose them tonight, and it disgusts me to think this will still not earn them respect from others.
RIP to the victims tonight and good luck to any cop that willingly puts on their badge tomorrow just like every other day.
Agreed. Look at last night's Sterling thread. Another GAF shit-show for the ages.
Except pistols can't shoot as fast as a semi auto AR15 nor they can hold high capacity magazines with dozens and dozens of bullets.

Your post makes it sound like you want to avoid Houston downtown.
RIP, and forgive me if i sound callous but hopefully now that blood is being shed on the other side true progress can be made regarding this issue.
Systems and institutions, bruh. At least attempt to understand the thing you're disagreeing with. This will probably be my last post on GAF because of posts I've seen from moderators regarding police officers, but I really fucking hope this will at least help change the minds of a lot of users and moderators alike about cops. How is civilian body armor legal? Nevermind I don't think I want to know...
This was without a doubt an act of terrorism.

Its fucking crazy that this will pass in a month or two or more. Soon becoming a faded memory in the wake of another incident. All the same or similar things will be said inside and outside this thread. But nothing will be done in the grand scheme.
My girlfriend and I are heading to houston tomorrow for a wedding. We're going to probably avoid going through downtown.
Wrong city
A month or two, or more? It'll be forgotten in 10-14 days just like every other recent tragedy.
We have no idea what their motive is. There's a shitload of doubt.
.
I'm sorry. I meant to say downtown Dallas . We live in north Dallas and we have to go south through the area to drive down.
so was there 4 shooters?
any official police or press confirmation of this?
Is it too crazy to think a land owner rights group like the Bundy Ranchers heard of a BLM protest and assumed it's was a protest involving the Bearu of Land Managment, the federal government arm that folks say steal land, and require payment for use of said land. The whole Bundy taking over that Oregon Forist was a protest of the BLM I think. Anyway, could the two groups been confused and the anti-BLM folks began taking out police due to their crazy political reasons and it has nothing really tondo with Black Lives Matter?

Skimmed the last 2 pages, didn't quite see an answer, that guy wearing the camo shirt turned himself in, so does that mean he wasn't one of the shooters afterall?
How about you two go fall on your swords assholes first? Goddamn shit stiring cowards. You both know exactly what you're doing.

Did I just hear gunshots in that periscope video?
That was during the 12:30 press conference. And they said there's a possibility for more.
Yes, Dallas PD posted it.
I've refrained from saying but I've been thinking that too, especially with the whole "end of times" spiel.

I just found out my sister was actually still downtown (she works for a company there) and she is okay. Was glad to hear she was fine. Most of my friends have reported on facebook that they are okay.

He wasn't. He even gave his rifle to a cop.
Nah he wasn't, theres even a video of him giving a cop his gun.
Correct, he had nothing to do with it and turned himself in for his own safety.
