The flag and country stand for higher ideals. It's not the country in that sense. It's THE PEOPLE.
Nothing wrong with showing support. 5 cops just got murdered while doing their jobs protecting civilian. One suspect has claimed he wanted to kill more white cops and white people.

You say absurd gun power, but it's not. It's real. People are going to have realize that the firepower that lets one (assuming at this point this guy was alone because that's the most likely scenario) person shoot ten+ cops without any successful return fire is in fact commonplace and not out of the ordinary. But you're supposed to feel safer when you have one. You know, just like all those cops were supposed to be safer.

We were raised in different era friend, I was taught to respect it, my family in the military respects it, you don't have to, just like I can chose not to respect people who chose to burn it and spit on it.
I've lived in Dallas for the last 7 years. Saddens me about the police officers. As someone who is not white, I've never had any problems with Dallas PD. And by all reports, DPD has had a good relationship with the community.
It also angers me to see some of the protestors mocking and taunting cops (and their fallen fellow officers) at the 7/11 downtown when cops were trying to prevent looting.
