Training at a gym of the same colour gives it points to reach a higher level. You can see how many it has and how many it needs to reach the next level when you tap on the gym.

So if you don't level it up to level 8, by training, then the existing trainers stay in all slots.
And if you do level it up to level 8, you get the chance to take the new slot? and if you don't someone else will?

Question:

Just started but is power saver (at least on Android) broken? Sometimes when I turn my phone upside again to turn on the screen, the touch screen controls just freeze up forcing you to restart the app. Every other Android app is fine during this though.

Also just landed on my first PokeStop at a park and the sprinklers immediately turned on and Hydro Pumped me.

Yeah, power saver mode won't let you play the game once you re-orient your phone. It still tracks egg progress though.

Level 19. Gym near my house has a fucking lapras at it now. I need to find one

10k eggs.

Went to De Young Museum in SF Golden Gate Park and there was like 20 people there just being cool and all like "YEAH YOU'RE DOING THAT THING TOO? YEAH GOTTA CATCH EM ALL BRO!" and I must say, this has been a top 10 moment for games this year no question.

I just spent so long tracking a pinsir. It showed up, 3 steps last on list. 3 steps middle list. 3 steps first row. 3 steps first place. 2 steps first place. 2 steps first place. 2 steps first place.

....server error. Nearby list got stuck. Wasted my time walking in the wrong direction for a while to the point that when the list got unstuck, it wasnt even on the list.

Doubled back. 3 steps last. 3 steps first. 2 steps. ONE STEP.

Poof. Pinsir gone before I get there.

My daughter and I went for a walk in our quiet, unassuming neighborhood looking for Pokémon. All of a sudden and car stops in the middle of the street and this woman is on her phone. We walk past her, I look back at her and I see a poke ball on her phone.

We make our way to the nearest park where there is a gym. We see 3 families walking around on their way to the gym, all playing. We got to the gym but we couldn't play because we were too low leveled. We see this teenager walk by with her headphones on and the phone on her-she's watching my daughter try to catch a Pidgey. I said "Catching Pokémon?" We started up a conversation and she told my daughter to join the Red Team. She continues on her way to the gym, past us.

A few minutes later my daughter and I notice the gym turned from blue to red, and then we saw the girl walking back with a smile on her face.

Just got aerodactyl but I'm afraid to level him. So many weaknesses... and it doesnt help there's so many jolteons and vaporeons....

Just caught an ivysaur with 60dmg whip. Oh yeah.

So had a really good night of hunting. 2 of my co-workers were. Hung out together. When all of a sudden I hear someone shout my name. I turn around and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a friend I had in high school that I haven't seen in 5 fucking years. We hung out for 5hrs and exchanged info. Thanks Pokemon go.

Math.....please tell me that's Kenosha and I'll will definitely be driving the 20 minutes to there lol

I don't understand why Vaporeon is significantly better in terms of HP and CP than Jolteon .

What

Vaporean seems flat out better than the other 2. My Flareon with 100 more CP got 1 shit by a Vaporean, who then 1-2 shot everyone else on my team. Not sure what the hell was going on but Vaporean was getting "Super Effective" attacks against a god damn Hypno...

There was a Library lawn with 3 Pokestops in range and they even have outdoor power plugs for chargers as well. That place is a freaking goldmine. We put some lures there and took over a few gyms and we ended up with a group of about 15 when we started with just us four. This game is insane.

Went to work, realized the place I was working at was smack in the middle of 3 pokestops. And being indoors also screwed around with the GPS so it made me move constantly.

Filled up the dex nicely and gotten a ton of mons to evolve a pidgeotto into a pidgeot

At higher trainer level will I encounter different pokemon? I'm at a higher level than I was yesterday but I only see pokemon in the same evolution line as the ones I saw before

This will be really popular and will make a shit ton of money but as a game its really bad. It just so shallow. You dont need your phone as an excuse to go outside.

It will be remembered in some years as a dumb thing you did some summer. Popularity does not equal quality especially in this. Ugh, i regret not wasting my time with something else.

Thanks for the helpful feedback!

I've literally had the best experiences in my life when it comes to gaming

I've owned every Nintendo system to date since NES too

I sort of agree. Sometimes I was thinking it was pretty fun hunting down an elusive 'mon, other times I see grown ass men everywhere staring at their phones looking for something that isn't really there and wondering what I am doing playing this game. In any case, although the base game concept is very clever, it is just a massive grind- which seems to be the most popular game design philosophy these days, unfortunately.

The other two starters are still somewhere around, right? Just started the game, showed it a coworker and he catched a Bubasaur but I wanted a Squirtle...

Or can I change the Mail somehow when I use a Google Login? Then I would start from the beginning...
