Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Pokemon placement has to do with pokestops/gyms. Got too far outside of their area and it's devoid of pokemon. I've also noticed they try and keep them from spawning near highways.
The highway thing makes sense, but Since they know where highways are, and where there are bodies of water etc, they should really just have the app auto generate tons of wild pokemons whereever there aren't any pokestops or gyms. I'm sure the app is capable of auto generating them when a player is near the same way they do it now.

Ahem..."fewer".

English is not my first language. Sometimes when I type stuff, I can't be arsed to get the linguistics quite right for the language I'm using, and then there's stuff like fewer, that I occasionally forget should be used in a context like the above. It should still be understandable though. :P

The game should make urban dwellers go into the wild to find anything but Ratatta. Everyone knows the cities in Pokemon games are chock full of exotic/rare monsters.
haha. I found a ratata in a supermarket earlier today. I was like, yup. Makes sense.

Would make a lot more sense if there was more Pokémon in the countryside, but the gyms and Pokéstops were mostly in towns and suburbs. Both have their perks and encourage traveling to new places.

Took a gym for the Bluebros right outside of my work. Already got a fellow Bluebro building it up. I put a 1100+ Lapras there on defense, which in retrospect is a terrible idea, since so many people seem to have fire pokemon.

I just got an outlook invite for a meeting tomorrow called 'Pokemon Possibilities' for getting the public and potential students to come see our campus... which apparently has 4 Pokestops and a gym. (Heartbreaking - I work remotely)

Talk about the game interacting with the real world. I'm not even playing it right now, lol

Mystic is officially dumpster tier and worse than team rocket for the graffiti in the park. Valor is the house of champions, while Instinct are essentially a neutral party.

Damnit. :(

There is a yellow gym nearby, but most people seem to be team red, and after that, team blue.

Its actually better to be yellow because it gives you maximum gyms to attack. (anecdotally speaking blue and red seem to be more popular than yellow)

Instinct = Canada
Valor = Australia
Mystic = UK

Make of that what you will.

Guys, exercise common sense as you play. Don't play and drive. Watch where you're going. You can't look at your phone and play this at the same time. Don't feed yourself the "I'm a good driver, I can do it" bullshit line while actually making the road unsafe for yourself and everyone around you. If you drive while playing this, you are a fool, a clown, and very probably Team Valor.

Also, as a pedestrian, watch where you're going! Look up when you're crossing the street, ugh. I've seen so many people just blindly crossing traffic.

Haha it's no problem, everyone makes that mistake (even I make it sometimes). I only posted it hoping someone would respond with the Stannis gif. And like usual, GAF delivered.

Rattata is the second most annoying Pokemon in this game. At least Pidgey can be spammed for EXP.

Is it fall yet? I really don't want to walk in the sun anymore after I spent an hour looking for a stupid Tauros that never showed up.

First accidental Poké-death should be any day now.

Zero Hedge? Why, bro? I mean right there in the article it says Pokemon Go is contributing to a nonexistent collapse in worker productivity. Read the comments and ask yourself if you want to be associated with those people. If your friend sent you the image, reach out to him. Friends don't let friends read Zero Hedge. lol

Someone on reddit posted my favorite quote of all time, in regards to other people saying Pokémon is only for children:

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

Huh, I noticed an odd change today on Android, possibly related to the update. The map showing where you caught a Pokemon, at the bottom of their status page, is now significantly more zoomed out than it was previously. Before it showed a radius of a few blocks, with the actual area you could have caught the Pokemon in circled. Now it's practically showing my whole city, with a much larger area circled. I wonder if it was a privacy thing?

I'm pretty angry at Niantic for not doing anything about this. You can't incubate eggs unless you drive at like 10 MPH or whatever, why the hell aren't they applying the same check to PokeStops and capturing? The GPS is constantly providing exact data for how fast you are going.

Don't wait until the first fatal accidents hit the news Niantic.

Even if it wasn't dangerous as hell it's not cool that driving is so much better than walking or biking.

Domino's Pizza and all phones company in my country and even Uber start using Pokemon GO with their commercial in twitter.

is this legal?

And I was once again goaded out of the house by the game teasing me a silhouette of a Pokemon I don't have (Kadabra in this case). Naturally, I couldn't find it once I stepped out. I swear it does this on purpose just to get me outside again. My dog is loving it though.

There should be a point where you stop seeing so many Rattatas and Pidgeys, like after level 7/8. It's like in the mainline games, after the first few gyms you hardly see Rattatas again unless you go back.
