Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

Haven't downloaded this yet. Trying to figure out a team first.

I grew up on Pokemon Red.

But my favorite color is blue.

Yet my favorite bird is Zapdos.

It's all about the bird. My favourite colour is blue, but I ain't about that Articuno, nobody got time for that.

Zapdos4lyfe.

You'll want a minimum of 45 evolutions ready before firing off a Lucky Egg, IMO. Just keep waiting. You'll be there naturally by level 12 or so if you catch all the Weedle, Caterpie and Pidgey you so, and the first boost should take you through to level 16.

I'm just looking to bump up to my friends' level at the moment, but I will keep that in mind for future Egg use. Is it really possible to do 45 evolutions in 30 minutes? Just the UI navigations and animations seem like they would take longer than that.

I "lost" a Magmar from a freeze. But, I logged on an hour later and discovered that he was in my inventory. I wonder if there is a lag in rewarding caught Pokemon during those crashes.

Went downtown with my friend, caught soooooo many pokemon. Gained like 3 levels for being there only 2 hours. Me and another guy took over a gym in the park too that changed hands like 5 times over those 2 hours lol but now his 1500 snorlax, another 1400 snorlax and my 490 gengar are in there

As far as I can tell, it's dumped into your inventory the moment the ball closes, if it was a successful capture. Yesterday I had 4-5 freezes in a row on super easy-to-catch Pokémon, and every time they were there in my inventory right when I got back in.

Won't be your gym for long lol.

When it freezes you never get to see the outcome if it was a successful catch or not. So after restarting sort your pokemon by recent, and if they're at the top you caught it. If not, so sad :(

Never forget.

Apparently, it's night and day difference. I live in a town called West Monroe, which basically has no landmarks of any kind and it really shows... Monroe on the other hand is ancient and filled with all sorts of places that count as landmarks, unfortunately they never understood the invention known as the sidewalk.

Damn that must suck. I count 28 landmarks and 3 gyms on the flattest camera setting, just spinning around. So basically all within a 5-10 minute walk. And that's not even downtown. Need to go there tomorrow and see how much stuff I can find o.O

Yeah, loving this game a ton. Haven't enjoyed a Pokemon game since Black, and I have no interest in playing in Sun/Moon or the last few, but this has me hooked.

Went to an outdoor mall this afternoon with a buddy, saw a bunch of people walking around. Drove our way over to the city's park, met a bunch of people there, some "camped" out in certain locations, dropping down lures and shit.

I can't walk a few steps without seeing someone playing it at these locations

I hate that the game so meticulousy tracks Pokeball useage, right down to the point where if there's a lag spike it will take forever to reload in a battle.......every time you miss it has to update the server to remove a Pokeball from your inventory. All this is just so people can't forcequit a losing fight and get their Pokeballs back.

But if I capture a Pokemon and the game freezes on the Pokeball animation......well then half the time it's just "Fuck you, you lose the Pokemon, lose all the Pokeballs, and get 0 XP."

Found a location that has reliable spawn spots for pinsir and another one with reliable spawns for electabuzz. Wish I'd find more locations like that, especially for the cooler pokemon like the starters and growlithe.

Has anyone put together a chart on how the time of day affects the pokemon spawns?

If people didn't see before here's a more direct link to ask withdrawal of "bad" places: https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=319928

I'm suggesting this because ome of you reported that the game did led them to some unapropriate place like a railway, so... let's play safe!

Servers go to shit from 9PM onward here in the Netherlands. ( ._.)
Game has been launched today in Germany, expect some bad issues with servers ^^;; (imo)

Evolution animation is 25 seconds. Navigating can be as little as 5 on a good phone when the servers are working properly and you have a good connection and you ordered all of your ready-to-evolve Pokemon using the favourites function, but it takes me closer to 15, so that's 40 seconds per shot for 45 'mons in half an hour.

How come nintendo never does voice over for any of the pokemon other than pikachu? I remember I hated that ever since I was a kid.. must be nintendo is too cheap.

I have one Pokestop within view at home and it's a frigging police station so I would never go there. There's a gym not too far down the street in the other direction but it's a monument in the middle of a road. Expert choices all around.

As an extra kick to the nuts, you probably have an incomplete Pokedex entry!

Went out for a few hours tonight with 2 buddies, someone set off a lure in the pub we were in and then we found an area with 3 pokestops all in range of each other with lures going off on each, awesome!

Checked out some of the gyms nearby and my big hitters are higher CP so gonna go back another day and give it a go. I trained at one gym, don't think I'm very good at the combat, seem to struggle dodging stuff.

Went to the local park to get Pokeballs from Pokespots (Got 35). The connection was lousy though. Spots wouldn't work properly. I saw a Rhydon there I couldn't catch. I was able to try to do a Gym Battle...and dealt with the 1 HP Glitch. Did I mention there's 3 Gyms right next to each other?

I really hope that they patch in the ability to play music from another app and still hear sounds from Pokemon Go. I want to bike around listening to my favorite music and hear alerts for when a pokemon or pokestop appears, but I can't. I can either ride around listening to music and stopping every block or so to make sure I don't miss anything, or I can ride around in silence waiting to hear a notification noise from the app. It's not game-breaking, but Pokemon Go is the only app that I've used that doesn't have the feature implemented.

Cellphone stopped working. My only activity PoGo related was just capturing a red gym and catching a Poliwag.
I won't be able to catch 'em all in almost two weeks :(

??

You can definitely do this, at least on iOS.

So does anything with a CP of 400+ automatically run away on you after one pokeball break out? Ran into a 410 Pikachu and 432 Bulbasaur today. Both times, I start off with a razz berry and great ball, they break free after a single shake, and instantly run.

Feels like I'm hitting a wall preventing me from increasing the strength of my team because of stuff like this..

Not always. The game just gets harder the deeper you go and rarer Pokemon seem to run more. Try getting the circle smaller so they have less chance of escaping .

Friends and I spent roughly 2-hours at a public golf course last night catching Charmander. We caught so many between us that they stopped spawning for 10-15 minutes, and at this point more people started arriving as word spread and were sorely disappointed when they couldn't find any. That Charizard will be soon within our grasps, it was a glorious experience.

3 Gyms within a couple miles radius of each other absolutely dominated by Instinct. 2 level 4's, and a freaking level 7!!

As it should be.

I listen to my podcasts and spotify just fine, on Android.
