Pokémon Go |OT| As in "Go Outside"

A Haunter escaped me earlier today. :/

I fed it raspberries.
I told it nice things.
I used the high-class Pokéballs.

But that bastard just left me cold.

edit: Gastly's are pretty common in Edinburgh.

I've gotten a ton of Gastly and managed to catch a Haunter in the wild too. I actually can evolve two more Gastly at this point.

While I'm sure it will remain mostly for first-party titles, I really wish this game gave My Nintendo reward points in some way.

A note to Canadian/Torontonian pokemasters, wind is extremely unstable for pogo. I get the frozen ball glitch almost every time and 90% of the time I don't get the pokemon when I reload the app. It also doesnt keep track of distance walked properly so I only get about half the miles for eggs.
Switching to rogers has fixed every issue.

A traffic light right outside my window is a pokespot that i can reach without going out. threw a lure into it. 5 minutes later a car crashes into the wall right in front of my eyes. 4 Teenagers with their smartphones get out of the car. luckily it seems like no one got seriously injured, but i feel really terrible because it is probably my fault :/

Something about how often this game crashes and having to use timed consumables that cost money is really really shady...

That's pretty crazy

I thought they might be. I must keep an eye out then because they are my favourite pokemon

They both also hatch from 5km eggs:

I wish you luck with finding them!

I've been slacking the last couple of days, so after work tonight myself and a few friends are gonna drive all over town. Stopped by the local lake and there were lures popping off every 10 feet, so I'm pretty excited.

Someone needs to explain the combat to me. I've had match ups I should be winning if this was a regular Pokemon game.

But my 697 electabuzz lost to a 682 blastoise.

Anyone else experience the issue that after you catch a Pokemon nothing happens anymore? The game doesnt freeze, it just stops while the grass is still moving.

Also, do the Pokeballs get used up or do they refill?

So is there any benefit to holding a Gym for a time other than the normal bonus you get for just having a pokemon in a gym?

Been holding a gym for 35 hours straight with my 1085 vaporeon

still going strong. But I need it to beat other gyms :(

Well, this is shit.

Not even shocked, there'll only ever be pokemon in the cities, fuck the rest of the UK

That looks not much diffrent from me and I live in Zone 3 london.

I have to walk about 10mins from my house to even see a variation of rat/pidgy/occasional drowsey/bat

Tap to attack (builds up special attack meter(s)). Swipe left or right when the screen flashes yellow to avoid attacks. Tap and hold to do special attack (uses one special meter).

I'm pretty sure attacks do as much damage as shown with weaknesses and resistances applying x2 and x0.5 damage.

Goddamn Weedles breaking up out, Caterpies, etc... All these low lvl Pokémon think they're hot shit and to good to be in my poke balls.
But shit that they made it this way, I can't do a regular curveball and the berries don't do anything.

Holy shit! Not your fault... you can't control the actions of others. But that is insane. Seems like it really would definitely be a good idea to restrict all interaction while at driving speeds.

Even if it's suitable for you, I may advice you to ask Niantic to remove it because like you just witnessed, that spot is kinda dangerous: https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=319928

Let's avoid anyspot related with traffics, imo.

Pokeballs are used up but are replenished at pokestops or by leveling up. So if you go out to popular spots you won't fall short anyone soon.

The freezing happens often. If you restart the app you usually have that pokemon.

Yes I did all that.

Blastoise never even used his special. I used mine twice

Not fair to people who ride trains and buses

Also not fair to passengers in cars

Maybe.
But we planned on sitting on a bus through munich all day tomorrow (when it's raining) just to see where different pokemon are.
So for passengers it wouldn't be fair.

People driving a car should be responsible enough to not be on the phone. Their fault. Noone elses.

I walked more steps yesterday then the 12 days before I played GO. 42,000 steps yesterday.
Thassa lotta steps. Nice work man.

is it common that the app freezes when having the phone upside down for the battery mode?
very often my screen just stays dark when turning the phone again, phone is still running and i can double-tab out of the app yet pokemon stays fully dark and needs to be restarted :(

You just need to practice curveballs. My tip is to tap and hold the Pokeball, then make tiny loops very quickly with your finger. It gets the curveball going immediately, and then you only have to swipe slightly to the side to get it to go down the centre of the screen.

I agree that it's unfair and that peope who are driving should be responsible at all times. I think being unfair may be worth the potential loss of life though :( I wish there was a simple way to prevent it from limiting passengers.
