PS4 Neo presentation might have leaked

Nothing like a good PowerPoint, amirite? :-/

Love the CONFIDENTIAL on top right. Also, no date but seems like you folks deduced already that it's the document from a couple months back when GB confirmed its existence.

Wait, does that mean i can't play a game like Witcher 3 on Neo due to it being released in 2015? Confused...

Presentation has the confirmation that game's main "exe" file [eboot.bin] can be run on both base PS4 and Neo. So the CPU compatibility is there, all previous PS4 games will run fine on Neo.

Also, there is a confirmation that devs could target a single res that is between 1080p and 4K and then upscale/downscale that depending of the display that user has.

Every game ever released for PS4 [both retail and digital] will run fine on Neo. If devs/pubs want, they can patch "full Neo" support for those "old" games [that will enable those games [like Witcher 3] to access full Neo hardware and render things faster/prettier]. Games that are released after this fall must come with Neo support [for full HW] already present.

Won't do 4K by upscaling, you're all idiots...

Will do 4K by uprendering, take that and party, losers

Joke post? I can't tell anymore.
It's onQ123, he's long since been obsessed with the idea that the Neo will "uprender" games to 4K. I don't understand his posts as I don't see anything in the presentation that points to anything else than upscaling or native rendering.

How did you arrive to this conclusion? It will be playable, Neo upgrades will be up to the developer if the title was released prior to October 2016 though.

So we're closer to getting 100% confirmation then?

This NEO is going to sell a lot during the holiday. This will be the PS4 to get. Can't wait to see the bundles and prices. (also i want to know about their UHD/4k-streaming/AudioCodec support, i bet it will be amazingly good)

No mention of reduced HDD bottlenecks is a bummer. Please. Shit load times have to go.
This also confirms what I've been talking about which some here didn't realize and that is that sub 4K resolutions will likely be used a lot. Resolutions between 1440p and 2160p. Some people here think it's either 4K or 1080p.
Also interesting is no higher clocks in base mode, so unpatched games can't benefit for example with a more stable framerate which is a bummer.

You can play it, but it's not going to take advantage of the increased power (unless CDPR patches it).

No, it means Witcher won't get a bump in performance, unless it gets an update/patch. While all games after that date will have it.

The power difference is huge but rumour is Sony held back neo at e3 to fiddle with specs a bit after finding out what Microsoft is doing.

My dude says they already have the QA consoles in house. This and think manufacturing contracts and I'd be amazed if this was even possible.

Well... I was at a FFXV Roundtable at E3 and some people asked asked about DLC and PS4 Neo features. The answer was pretty the same for both questions:

"Fans are waiting for too long, we just to finish the game and then we can think about other stuff".

Since FFXV will be released at the LAST DAY of September, it makes sense that maybe this is the release date so they doesn't need to care about another version (PS4Neo).

Usually PS4 games are released on Tuesdays, right? Sept 30th is Friday.

Why is Sony so conservative with core clocks? RX 480 total board power is only 150W at 1266MHz with 8GBs of 8Gbps GDDR5. They could come in well under that with a chip clocked at 1085MHz and reach 5TF.

If only any console was just a GPU+RAM....

Not sure why everybody seems to forget about all the other power consuming stuff inside the box that contributes to a consoles power budget (in this case ~150W at the wall).

CDPR is pretty good about post game support. I would def expect a neo patch for Witcher 3

Be shocked if Uncharted 4 didn't get a patch too, especially with a chunky DLC on the way.

Yup, Bloodborne and witcher 3 good frame rates be damned.

Also dont give a shit about 1440p down sampled, so its PC or scorpio. I was a 360 gamer anyway...maybe its time to go back.

Sony used to be quite good at making decisions and listening to gamers past 3 years, what the fuck happened recently ?

Listen sony, 60 FPS at 1080p, excellent LOD and lighting..... or just go away and I will just keep my OG Ps4 as a Destiny machine.
