So the bundle is 10 and the Time Spy update is only 5, but in the bundle it says 3dmark is free. So can you just buy time spy and get 3d mark with it for 5? Or do you need the 10 bundle if you currently have nothing?

3D Mark is listed as "N/A" on the package page because it can't be bought by itself. You'll notice that on 3D Mark's store page there are only two options: the 3D Mark + DLC bundle or the 3D Mark + PC Mark bundle.

Could someone tell me difference between the Strix and Strix OC? My Google Fu is failing me right now. Is it just higher base and boost speeds? Or does the OC have additional features?

I have the regular Strix and I want to know if it is worth keeping.

Amazon has the MSI GAming X in stock for $862.00. That seems pretty ridiculous

Welcome to seeing similar sorts of price gouging that those of us unlucky enough to live in the UK are seeing lol.

And you can't even blame the Brexit and the state of the pound either. You can still buy Founders Edition cards here for £619 but if you want a high end AIB card expect to pay over £700.

The Gaming X card is £695.99 over here from Overclockers, the only etailer in the UK that has any stock of 1080 cards, and if you're looking for a high end card like the Asus Strix OC then they have that for £749.99.

I had a look at the US Newegg site the other day. Founders Edition cards for $699, AIB cards for an extra 20 or 30 dollars. The difference between the cheapest Founders Edition over here and the Asus Strix card I mentioned above is £130 lol

We have hardly ANY stock at all here in the UK so supply and demand means that etailers can take the piss.

Keep it, unless it is watercooled, there is only insignificant difference in clock potential among almost all third party cards, it all comes down to silicon lottery. The only difference are really down to cooling, which both Strix models share the same design and performance.

Do any of you have League of Legends installed? If so can you see if it works for you? Mine crashes at the login screen. It was working yesterday when I was running my 980Ti. Today with the 1080 installed, I can't get it to work. I've rolled drivers back a few versions and tried a bunch of stuff with no luck. I'd like to know if it's just me or if something in general is up.

You are a beautiful person. Thank you.

Nowinstock says the last listed price was $730. What you saw was probably a third-party listing.
Indeed, I ordered one from Amazon last week when it was listed as a preorder for that price, and I just received it. Nowinstock is a good resource, they pretty much show things as 'out of stock' when your only options are from 3rd party scalpers. Nowinstock will show when an item is available for 'preorder', and Amazon will honour their own listed preorder price if you can catch it.

Just woke up and while browsing my phone a bit I got an alert for the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW from Amazon! Just ordered and it says it's arriving Wednesday. As of this minute it is still available for $679.99.

Is the Strix cooling system suppose to be ridiculously good? While playing Overwatch on Epic settings, the thing never got above 55 C, which is a solid 15 - 20 degrees cooler than what my EVGA SC was running at on the same settings.

Another thing, I noticed that the Strix only reaches about 1350 MHz while playing Overwatch, compared to 1900+ from the EVGA SC. This difference didn't seem to have any effect on performance what's so ever.

Is there a tool or benchmark that can help me determine whether I "won" or "lost" the "silicon lottery?" Even playing a game like Doom on max settings, the clock speed seems low. The only game I've seen push the GPU was Fallout 4, reaching 2020 MHz for a brief second.

Sorry for all the dumb questions in this post (and throughout this thread); I'm still pretty new to PC gaming and don't yet understand a lot of things.

What is the GPU load at 1350 mhz?
Your card should be atleast 1900+

I just bought it and it doesnt even work................great.

Don't matter what test I run, I keep getting this error.

Mine won't run either. However, reading the steam community forums seems like others are having similar issues, and may be working on it. Mine is having problems with the systeminfo background task never finding system info, hanging the program.

It may be worth sending them an email info@futuremark.com

At what point do we expect these cards to become more abundant in availability?

My guess is at the end of the month or early next month. Overclockers.co.uk have an ETA of 29th of July for a good number of cards and stock has gotten better since a week ago (they ship to quite a few countries).

Ok. I got my card! Gigabyte G1 1080. Can anyone give me any overclocking tips? How do I know if I have won this silicon lottery that keep getting talked about?

I have started playing with the Gigabyte overclocking tool. Just curious how hard I should push it. It caps out at +911 MHz ( 2607/2746 total.. not sure why it gives me two numbers ), but I obviously haven't tried going balls out yet. I am noob to GPU overclocking, so any info would be welcome I am sure.

Just installed my Strix 1080 (non-OC) today. Haven't run any benchmarks yet because I'm running into other problems.

The fan nearest the back of the case is kicking on when idle way too much (my idle temp is about 30-32C). When looking at Afterburner and HWMonitor, it always says my fans are at 0%, even though I can visibly (and audibly) hear that it's on. I tried setting a custom fan profile in both Afterburner and GPU Tweak, and nothing helps.

I attempted to put it in a different slot, but that covers up my SATA and USB3.0, so that's not gonna work. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I know this isn't the right thread, but there are a lot of 1080 users here, so I figured it's worth a shot.

The silicon lottery for these is >2100.

I followed this guide for oc'ing my 1080.

Finally got a hold of a GTX 1080 and now have all the pieces ready to start my build. Got myself a Dell 27" monitor with GSync as well as a new 4K TV so I think I'm good to go with my new setup. What settings do you guys generally recommend in order to get 60 FPS on 4K displays?

Boy I got lucky as FUCK!!!

The prices are jumping around like crazy for these 1080 cards.

I got this card......

right after I purchased it, it went up to that 800+ price.

Congrats on snagging a card!

I just finished overclocking mine. I am sitting at about 2239 Core Clock without going over 72 C on my Gigabyte G1 1080. Pretty happy! Jammed on some Oculus Dirt Rally to celebrate and was very impressed.

Congrats, but that $800 price is by a third party seller. You just happened to catch it when Amazon had stock up for the founders msrp.

Either way, you'll enjoy it. I threw my FE on water and it's great.

So excited for my card to come in. I initially purchased a GTX 1070 FTW when I've had the intention to buy the 1080 all along. Then hearing someone else talk about how great their 1080 FE was made me cave in and cancel. A week and a half later I wake up to my alarm at 9:15 and receive an alert at 9:19 that the 1080 FTW is in stock and from Amazon at that. Man I was checked out and finished in that same minute, 9:19.

I've had my rig complete since this time last year and held out this long on buying a GPU, using a Radeon HD8950 the entire time. This thing is going to be so much of an upgrade.

The missing piece of the puzzle falls in place next Wednesday!

you over clocked yours??? Or does it gets so hot that you needed to put a water cooler on it???

Never buy from third party resellers. Just hang in there and snag it at MSRP when the chance comes up. You'll thank yourself later.

Look at it this way: I upgraded from a 680 to a 1080. Quite a jump, right? Yeah, the games run a shitton better, but it's still the same game as it was before. It's not like I'm playing the game for the first time or only now able to play the game or anything. That jump in performance would NOT have been worth an extra few hundred dollars just to get it a week or so earlier.

Bought Battlefront again just to bask in that glorious smoothness that the GTX 1080 provides and also to get a taste of BF1 performance on my system lol.

It's goddamn pretty and no hitches. What got me most impressed with the Palit is that it runs at 63°C max settings @1440P after a hour and half of play. My previous EVGA 980Ti would go around 82°C in the same case (H442).
