Shin Godzilla - Trailer 2 (New Japanese Godzilla Movie)

Well I already saw more of Godzilla in this trailer than I did in the entire 2014 movie, although I'm kind of worried. He doesn't really move much at all

Any news regarding a North America launch? I'm a huge Godzilla fan ever since I was a kid and I really want to see it but I can't find anything regarding Mexico

Is Shiro Sagisu doing the music for this movie? It sounds exactly like his Eva music.

Everything looks good except for the fact that Godzilla looks like he doesn't move 90% of the time.

Been a G-Fan since I was fresh out of the crib. The 2014 movie was very flawed and I wish I seen more of Godzilla in it. The parts he did show up in absolutely stole the show (funny how the title character has to steal back his own show from constant droning on of MUTOs and exposition and crappy human characters not named Bryan Cranston).

Kinda weird seeing Godzilla's atomic breath is apparently purple here. Guess blue breath+red ambient glow=purple breath or something. Sounds like a Showa roar there. Straight rip almost. I also see that Toho has not gotten over its thunderthighs fetish either from the Heisei series.

Got to admit, I'm usually first to say that Japanese Godzilla is superior to anything that America could make, but when Godzilla actually fucking showed up in the 2014 movie he was awe inspiring. I was immensely hyped for 2014's movie after the trailer yet this one does nothing for me. It's that fucking music, really. I really hope they don't try too hard with the "so bad its good" feel.

Is Godzilla fighting other kaijus in this movie or just the army?

The Gareth Edwards movie had its problems but I thought it was still very true to the spirit of the original 1954 film so it's weird to see another version coming out of Japan. I'm excited for it (even though I probably won't be able to see it for a while) but I don't know what to expect. Godzilla looks downright twisted and that's interesting but I've never been an Evangelion fan and this trailer doesn't really sell this movie for me. A lot of shots of Godzilla standing in place and getting shot at and bureaucrats looking very worried. Mmh...

This looks great, full of destruction and concerned looking officials - I can get behind the idea of Gozilla being a slow, lumbering dude who can unleash despair if he so chooses, definitely digging that roar at the end too. Horrifying little eyes.

The Eva and Godzilla fans in me are very happy.

Say what you want about 2014 Goji.

I can't fucking wait until we see Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah on American big screens. Super interested to see their take on the three monsters.

He looks horrifying, though is he only fighting humans with grounded military weapons? It seems like they want to stay awake from the campy schlock that makes the films fun and move back into the Nuclear devastation allegory again.

I hope he fights some sort of monster, and less shots of concerned people staring at screen than each other...

Basically, this is the original 1954 Godzilla reanimated, the one who we last saw as a skeleton at the bottom of the ocean. It accounts for his zombie like appearance, and the presence of a whale skeleton embedded into the flesh of his tail. https://i.imgur.com/Q1CF0zK.jpg

Ah, that's sounds really interesting actually.
It's funny how almost every Godzilla movie since 1999 (including the american one) is always a direct sequel to the 1954 film that disregards everything else.

Wait that's why the tip of the tale looks so weird? Not to mention a zombie godzilla? You have just piqued my interest in this movie quite considerably

So fucking beautiful, that NGE music complemented the grim imagery exceptionally well.

In Anno we trust!

Also, that 1954 theory sounds fascinating, as it would add an entirely unexpected dynamic to the film's lore.

I didn't notice the whale bones in the tail until just now. Things are getting interesting indeed. Definitely most squick Godzilla to date.

Yes, it's an interesting theory but does it relate to Godzilla's lack of movement or the music? I'm a little confused.

Can you explain that?

Yes there is a strong theory that says that he is the original Godzilla from the 1954 Gojira movie

Ha. Didn't know Shiro Sagisu was doing the music for this, but I recognized that style pretty quickly.

I'm pretty hyped, strange looking Godzilla aside.

Godzilla looks like something out of Attack on Titan. I don't know if it's the design or the combination of practical effects and CGI, but he looks scary. Im hoping Toho can wash out the taste in mouth from the last Godzilla. The trailers look decent at least.

Godzilla just stands there as he's blasted in the face. Hardly any reaction. That's a weird as trailer too. Like, how about some dialogue?
