Kim Kardashian releases video of Kanye/Taylor Swift conversation about "Famous" lyric

He's getting mad about Kanye's saying "bitch," yet he's talking about loving Eminem who still talks about "faggots" and murdering women and who frequently feuded with (female) pop acts.

Hm, I wonder what the difference between Kanye West and Eminem is…

Come on.... Taylor Swift and Kanye...does this stuff really piss people off this much?

Hell, they are probaly both laughing their asses off at the internet going crazy over this.

the reaction of taydolf stans has followed a very predictable path; at first they are as shocked as everyone else that their fave has been exposed and ended, but by the next day they are arguing semantics to try and convince people (who? others or themselves?) that their fave is not currently clutching at a truly bald, bleeding scalp.

So....Taylor

is a Total Diva?

Tell that to record sales. She still slaying. :3

Lol what kind of argument is this? She's literally being called a bitch in this song, while she isn't in others. If I personally insulted you are you now not allowed to find offence at it simply because you've heard it being done to other people.

You would swear Taylor Swift strangled some damn puppies with the way people are acting here.

It's not like Kanye doesn't want there to be an issue around the lyrics, it's why he put them there and all he does these days is attention grab by saying shit exactly like this.
I'm just pointing out how ridiculous she sounds.

"I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex"

She's personally rapped about in this line as well, yet she took no issue with it. It's ridiculous that she (and/or her PR folks) speak of misogyny in regards to the "that bitch" line, but seemingly take no issue with the other.

Who cares????

Look how bent out of shape you guys are getting over these people.

lol this is exactly what they want i guess.
You did enough to come here and comment?

Look how bent out of shape you are getting over this thread.

Congratulations also giving them exactly what they want, I suppose.

Sex would be consensual. Calling her a bitch is an outright insult.

How is having sex with someone mysoginistic? Calling her a bitch however and saying he (a man, though not much of one) made her (a women) famous is crossing the line.

The Abyss released in 1989...coincidence?

Edit: Complaining about spoilers for a 27 year old film is pointless, if you cared you would have seen it

Lol. Where did I say having sex was misogynistic? The lyrics are, not the act.

Why are you so defensive, though?

You questioned why she had no problem with him saying they might have sex. But there ain't nothing mysoginistic about that line.

There is when he calls her a bitch and says he, a man, made her famous.

Pretty simple.

At least now I know that no woman has a right to get mad if I go up to them at the bar and say we might have sex.

"If we did, it would be consensual! I'm surprised you can't grasp this simple concept."

Well, maybe. But it would be unusual for me to be speaking to a superstar. Considering the company she keeps, it wouldn't be such a novelty for her to want to record it.

Neither is it for Kanye who seemingly records all parts of the production process, including speaking to someone whilst asking permission to write some bars about them.

Where's that video mate?

Ya'll can say she lied as much as you want. Until they post that video of her hearing the bitch, you've not a leg to stand on. Accept, move on, admit you got sucked into the hype and go find some real rap to listen to.

what rap you listen to?

If only, eh? Because then he'd have audio of her hearing the bitch line. Yet he doesn't... So your argument is nixed.

Look, he shouldnt have made a big deal about getting her permission if it excluded the part where he said "I made that bitch famous".

But then again, can she really be mad if he's the whole reason she's famous in the first place? Seems like she got the good end of the deal, plus they still might have sex.

He probably doesn't, but seeing as she had an advance copy I deduce that she did in fact hear it before it was released and seemingly did nothing about it.

Kim proved in the video that Kanye spoke to Taylor about the song in a very friendly and polite conversation. The video disproves the first two sentences of the initial PR statement, and throws a lot of doubt on the third:

This is the initial PR statement from the Swift camp:

"Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’”

What is contradictory about that?

The video proves a contradiction in her statement.

How is having sex with someone mysoginistic? Calling her a bitch however and saying he (a man, though not much of one) made her (a women) famous is crossing the line.

So she was cautioning against the "bitch" lyric all along? Not the sex line? That means she knew about the bitch line, which is the only way she could caution against his misogynistic message. That contradicts her Instagram post AND the third sentence of the PR statement. That makes her even more of a liar! Careful what you say...

And her taking issue with Kanye claiming her fame contradicts what she said in the phone conversation:

I don't think anyone would listen to that and be like that's a real diss she must be crying. You've gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it. You honestly didn't know who I was before that. It doesn't matter that I sold 7 million of that album before you did that which is what happened, you didn't know who I was before that. It's fine...

It's awesome that you're so outspoken about this and be like, ‘Yeah, she does. It made her famous.' Its more provocative to say ‘might still have sex…' It's doesn't matter to me. There's not like one [line] that hurts my feelings and one that doesn't."

"She was referring to the incident, not the lyric!" Then show me the video evidence where the incident alone, and not the lyric, became the topic of discussion in their conversation? The lyrics of the song were the topic of discussion. Even if they weren't talking about the lyrics, what she said in the video contradicts what she said at the Grammys... so which was the lie, the phone convo, or the speech? Either way... LIE!

I actually like Taylor's songs and I'm happy for her success, but come on... she lied...

He says he listens to Eminem.

No need to take anything he says seriously.

What's wrong with Em? And why are you so jelly of superior artists to Kanye? Is it because Tay, 13 years his junior, already has achieved more cultural impact, a bigger fanbase, more respect and lots more money? Does that grate?

Actually I don't want to know why you don't like Em. Awks.

I'm assuming asking about the L is more about how this will affect her career/down the line. Which it possibly wont apart from how her PR team decides to spin it into a positive. We can already see from this thread that die hard fans don't tend to care when their idol does something stupid/reprehensible. Damn well has lost some respect from her peers I'd imagine however

Can't take an object of desire away from the White Knight.

He has no reason for existence if you do.
