Looks like the Godzilla movie I wanted the recent one to be.

Evil Godzilla is always the best. Can't fucking wait!

Of course Godzilla ain't gonna react to getting blasted. He didn't in the older movies all that much unless they brought out the superweapons.

I like the the tone of this one, but I hope it doesn't end up being AoT bad.

I'm loving everything about this film, it looks awesome!

I mean yeah Godzilla could look better and the tail is ridicously out there but I saw great shots of him in the distance and military trying to take him down.

Also the music made me feel more depressed and sad for Godzilla than worried about humanity's chances... but then I always root for Godzilla anyway :p

Yezus...Godzilla still looks stiff as a statue, save for that tail.

Wonder if there'll be a plot-twist where it's actually the corpse of Godzilla and that tail is a parasite that latched on and re-animated him, Weekend at Bernie's style.

It's weird how Godzilla seems to be just standing there

Got to admit, I'm usually first to say that Japanese Godzilla is superior to anything that America could make, but when Godzilla actually fucking showed up in the 2014 movie he was awe inspiring. .
The atomic breath scene was so good

I'm running with the theory
this is just a corpse of the original Godzilla, the look definitely imitates the original Godzilla in a number of ways, but more... Corpse-ier. Then his trail is fucking huge though, AND his tail has a face, like it has eyes, a teeth, and such on the tail at the end to imply the tail has a life of its own. I think the reason it shambles so lifelessly is that this is a literal walking corpse of the original Godzilla being controlled by a parasite that's situated in its tail, and I'm betting the fact it's a walking corpse of Godzilla is playing up some major symbolism here.

I have a similiar theory but mine goes that
Godzilla just acts zombified as long as the parasite is attached on him, I suspect once the parasite gets off his tail Godzi will go berserk EVA Unit-style and fight with the tail parasite. I wouldn't be surprised if the scene at the end of the trailer is from where he screams and charges his beam is when he "wakes up".

This looks good to me but I've been a big fan of man in suit Godzilla since I saw the first movies as a kid. I was mixed on the 2014 US version though, not so much because of their Godzilla but because it just wasn't a great movie.

Edit: Zilla is going to jerk off over the corpse of Mothra.

Was half expecting an EVA to show up in that trailer.

The only odd thing I did notice was that Godzilla's arms were in the same exact pose in every shot.

Still a very creepy design, even if I personally prefer the look of Godzilla '14.

I really hope at least one of the theories about his tail being something important turns out true, because I'd hate for it to be that long and prominent for no reason.

I literally posted the same thing 5 posts above you. XP

Guys, I'm pretty sure the
Godzilla 1954 theory
was debunked by Toho. This movie is apparently
completely unrelated to any previous Godzilla movies

I love all of the shots of Godzilla tanking hits from the military and not giving a single shit about it

Yeah, the tail could be some deep sea worm parasite.

I like it, especially the daytime scene's with Godzilla in it. Most movies with big monsters are always at night.

Yeah that's one of the things I always loved about Kaiju films. The tons of daytime scenes, to be a painter for sky backgrounds basically became an artform in Japanese set building during the 60s because of all the monster movies.

I'm actually not a huge fan of daytime Godzilla scenes at least in the movies where Godzilla is supposed to be an antagonist or anti-hero. Big G looks 10x scarier in nighttime scenes.

Any idea how this is going to release in the US? I don't really see Legendary wanting this in theaters to confuse people with the Hollywood Godzilla.

Basically unless Anno is playing some Hideo Kojima style mind games they basically stated those rumors were all bunk.

Damn at all those shots of people in meetings, then Godzilla gets attacked and seems to fall asleep.
I don't get what they are going for here.
Did I just see basically the entirety of the movie's plot?

Maybe because the Japanese know that the biggest disasters can happen during the most brilliant, sunny weather.

After 2014 Godzilla it's hard for me to look at this Godzilla (man in suit) and take it seriously.

After the 90's US Godzilla it was hard to look at any kind of CGI Godzilla seriously.

2016 and still looks like a dude in a suit...come on Japan, spend some money on CGI..

You realize they kind of hate that idea right? Not they won't use CGI but after the 90's movie they went out of their way to have man in suit Godzilla destroy a CGI version of the US made Godzilla in Final Wars.

Besides Man in Suit looks great to me but opinions and all.

Man in a suit will always be Godzilla for me. I don't care how far CGI progresses.

Man in a suit isn't the problem, it's how lazy it looks, they think this is 1965, gonna put a man in suit, do a better job of tricking me....
