What I wonder is what drives these kinds of people to gleefully join a party that is so gleefully against them. I understand the party gleefully using LGBT, and minorities and women etc willing to attack themselves, but when you are that willing attacker... What the fuck drives you to that...

Its weird that people are repeatedly asking for "the tweets" that got Milo banned when it's clearly the years long pattern of leveraging his followers to harass people that earned it for him, not any particular tweet.
That, and that he finally tried his schtick against a celebrity.
But people looking for a smoking gun "harass this person" tweet don't understand how Twitter works. If you have a huge following and you simply say "hey y'all @person said this awful thing" that's usually enough to get 100s of abusive tweets sent to the target. Milo exploited and encouraged this pattern over and over again for years. He finally picked a target with enough clout that he had to go.
Twitter must know that if they cleaned up their act fully, their user numbers would drop precipitously and the stock would tank. Only hope for them to really clean it up is if they got bought by a profitable company that doesn't give a fuck about the illusion of engagement and cares about the real value of Twitter.
(Because I'm pretty sure Twitter is trapped in a double bind where their sign up numbers are largely driven by abuse because people aren't signing up any more because they are wary of the potential abuse.)

Mind you, in this particular case, it's just Notch being all dramatic to say "hey look, both sides are the same".
This is a myth.
About 2 hours in, anyone could fact check themselves the GG claims and see they were blatantly false.
Either people didn't do this very elementary fact checking and that means they didn't care about journalism, or they did and if they kept following that movement, that also means they didn't care about journalism or facts.
He and Milo can be best buds. They're perfect for each other.
For clarity's sake: at the start of the movement there was an explicit plan to trick people into thinking it was about ethics, and as such some folks in the second wave of GG were tricked, but it was always about vengeance on an ex for a stalker.

Jesus I usually stay away but looking into this whole mess and seeing how.... weird this whole alt-right culture is really is a trip. I don't even understand half of the hashtags and weird sub-movements because the actual politics and motivations are so obfuscated behind walls of vague pseudo-harassment campaigns and push-backs against people's criticisms of their views and methods.
