Twitter Thinks That Laura Ingraham Made a Nazi Salute During the RNC

Of course she did it on purpose. Her entire schtick is to troll anyone with a functional brain.

She doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

This thread is looking into a cloud and seeing a Nazi salute. Yes, it looks like one. But no, it isn't one. C'mon people.

Like I said in the 2nd plagiarism thread, this is just looking to create a story where there isn't one.

I'm a highly skeptical person that does not ever jump on these freak-out bandwagons, but come on.

This:

Guys. This isn't a tourist at Disney Land accidentally giving the salute to Donald Duck.

Laura Ingraham is a racist. She has been very clear about this for a long time. She's on stage at the Republican National Convention and she takes a moment to point a perfectly executed Nazi salute right at Donald Trump. Who is running for President on a platform that is clearly racist.

Sometimes a Nazi salute is a Nazi salute.

The guy just used the Star of David in an attack ad like a week ago ffs.

"Mommy? How did the babbling orange Nazi become President?"

"We thought he was joking!"

Is dead-on.

How the hell did she and Keith Olbermann end up dating?

And as with the second plagarism story, it's not as much about proving beyond the shadow of a doubt whether or not this was a nazi salute (it totally) was.

It is about the fact that this campaign is full of people you could see doing stuff like this. That the previously inconceivable has become "Oh yeah, I could totally see her Sieg Heil'ing on stage. That totally fits the tone of this RNC."

And this is absolutely worth talking about, and I'm frankly sick of all the amateur tone policing in these threads. It is so fucking lazy.

Well that was pretty obviously a Nazi salute alright. They don't even try to hide it anymore. How can any decent human being support these monsters?

Yea, no bro. It totally looks like one but it totally isn't one. That makes zero sense. All you have to do is look at her history and trumps history with David Duke, his book of Hitler bed time stories his ex-wife said he owns and reads or his his nationalistic platform and America first crap endorsed by Nazi sympathizers.

Happens quite often when you wave at someone actually. Very natural movement.

Not at all. Not pausing on it. You can even see on her face the shift between the two modes. Generally a smile starts before you ever have your hand up.

She's obviously waving to people who are out below in an audience because she's on stage, but yeah, horrible optics.

The locked left arm doesn't help those optics.

Like how more obvious would it have to be, when we know the Republican Party is actively courting the white supremacist/neo-Nazi vote? Would she have had to do a little stomp to make it more convincing?

Edit: sorry for the double post, just so much drama all of a sudden.

It looks intentional to me, honestly. She locks her arm, holds the pose for a second, and then shifts both her arm and facial expression into a traditional "happy and waving" thing.

Silly season non story.

GAF should be above this.

Laura Ingraham is a rancid sack of shit of a human being. She deserves zero benefit of the doubt.

This ^

Some of y'all are acting like it could happen to anybody.

This has never happened before - you don't accidentally cop a locked arm quarter turn salute and hold the post for a split second.

Laura Ingraham has a history of being awful way before this.

She's obviously waving to people who are out below in an audience because she's on stage, but yeah, horrible optics.

Waving to the people directly below her, yet raising her head and eyes to look towards the back of the stadium. Not a chance.

Normal people don't wave by throwing their hand across their body like this. It's an intentional troll heil to stir up controversy.

---

To anyone that's saying it wasn't intentional: I challenge you to come up with another time when a speaker thanked their audience by throwing their right hand across their body, holding their arm straight out for a noticeable beat, raising their eyes to the sky, and avoiding smiling until immediately after the whole display was over.

Yeah. I mean, to all the people talking about her just waving...we know she waved. We saw her wave. We're talking about the part where she is decidedly not waving. Maybe that'll clear it up. The part where her hand is completely still and rigid. That part. Maybe you missed it among all the actual waving.

Me thinks...

Black person known for wanting equality holds up a fist... it's pretty obvious. Ex. Serena. At least for all the headlines that came out, there was no question.

Known racist person holds up a salute... should be pretty obvious as well.

Yes, that fraction of a second waving out into a crowd.

I think we're all talking about that, on both sides of this.

I hate Laura Ingrahm but the mental gymnastics it requires is astounding to think that shes:

a) Advocating for the Nazi salute
b) A private Nazi who has muscle memory (ala Dr. Strangelove)
c) Signalling some secret Nazi pact

Like, let's say any of those are true, what does she (or the GOP or Trump) have to gain by her revealing her top-secret Nazism at this moment, when millions of people are watching her. If it's A or C, that she's making a conscience effort to signal Yay! Hitler! on stage, how does that help the GOP or her, at the convention?

This is exactly the sort of response that the far right eats up... "Oh look the left thinks Ingraham is making a nazi salut when she's waving to people... They're so desperate!" That somebody photoshopped in the trump wave from the other side, from getty images, just stokes the madness.

Like someone else said, this is tantamount to the right's obsession with Obama being a secret Muslim, who shows his true colors once in a while or signals secret Mohammedean messages to his Muslim bretheren using split-second hand signals and phrases.

It's madness. It's like the virus that festers in the far-right's brain has seeped into the water supply around Gaf Acres and now we're all nuts.

It wasn't photoshopped

If you're looking for a motive, it stirs up controversy and advertises her radio show, and people can defend her by saying "those liberal SJWs don't even want us waving to our audience!" or whatever.

Seriously, no one normal has ever waved that way. Dozens of other speakers at the RNC managed to make hand motions that thank their audience without people mistaking their motions for a Nazi salute. It was clearly intentional.

I mean, basically everyone agrees that it's a troll for attention, not some Nazi conspiracy.
So you can pack your alphabetical straw-men back in.

What is amazing though is the willingness to just handwaive a clear Sieg Heil in the name of "the big picture". That's the madness I'm seeing here.

Not to mention that your notion nobody would intentionally or unintentionally do anything that harms the GOP after outright, on-stage plagarism and backstabbing is utterly hilarious.

She's pretty white and blonde. She could have burned a cross on that stage, and been given the benefit of doubt.

I like how you just ignore that white nationalists in the states commonly use the same salute. The fucking kkk uses it look at post 437 or Google it. This isn't about Nazism or her cheerleading hitler. This is her using a symbol that white supremacists use. You're dense if you don't think she purposely did this for the resulting attention she would get. This picture isn't shopped either but keep going to bat for a disgusting sack of shit it's good look to have.

Holy shit. People actually think she was intentionally giving a Nazi salute? I mean, come on. I get that its funny to laugh at the perception, but get real people.

I get where you're coming from, but these are people who flat-out called people with Mexican heritage drug dealers and rapists and unfit to serve as judges. Among many other slurs against various minority groups. It's difficult to know what's beyond them and what's not.

Superpredators! We have to go deeper!

It's really funny how worked up people get over stuff like this lol

Now find a video of her doing extremely unnatural motions to emphasize her heil and ascribe her a reasonable motive. Then it'll be a fair comparison.

It would also help if she's ending a speech given at a convention for people who are known for flirting with white supremacist pandering.

You're dense if you don't think she purposely did this

Ok, what did she do?

If she purposefully did this for attention, and to be able paint the left as "Crazy SJWs that can turn an awkward wave into a Nazi salute". She's succeeding in exactly what she set out to do.

If she didn't, then you're all crazy SJWs trying to turn an awkward wave into a Nazi salute.

I say ignore it. It's only good for her, and bad for the left.
