That town also doesn't have google maps available. It will still be playable without google maps, the game will show no maps but pokemon/pokestops will be there
Ingress is available in South Korea (without map) and I was in South Korea during Pokemon GO launch (no map, but pokemon/pokestops/gyms were there)

Some stupid national security laws restrict Google.
I don't know why they have mapped Busan and Seoul without anything else, though.

They should really just kick the American and European servers off for a few days anyway. You have all had enough fun and your tourists and took over all our gyms in like an hour with OP mons. It's only fair.

So glad I was awake and around during the launch. There's a pokestop right at my apartment, I caught 38 of them today without even leaving the building. Feeling really bad for the people who couldn't play until now though due to work/stuff, and now they won't be able to, probably for a while!

makes sense, it takes a while until you gain something from spending money on it. i have played it quite a bit and i wouldn't know what to buy. i have more pokeballs than i will ever need, tons of smokes and other stuff.

I thought they were going to wait so they could work out some of the bugs, but I've been waiting for the better part of the day and I still can't make an account to play. Why do I have to make an American Pokemon account to play when I already have a Japanese one?
Also it is bit strange seeing the alphabet used for the name, it's like they didn't put much effort into the Japan release.

I've seen people playing it all day, there have been constant news reports on the game for the past 2 weeks here, it is popular.
I found some people on twitter recommending to sign up using the American Pokemon Trainer Club page, but apparently I can't use katakana for my screen name.

Why don't you just use a Google account?
Why would associate an account I use for work with a game, isn't that dangerous?
Korea actually restricts geo location apps like Google maps, and Pokemon Go. Currently, you can only play it in one corner of the country in some beach side resort.

Also I may have heard wrong, but I thought Niantic was working on that situation in Korea.
It's already at #3. Might climb up by tomorrow since it's weekend.
