Yeah, for reference I'm part of the newest coalition of voting. I was 3 on 9/11. My memories are tangential to the event, I just remember wanting to go to an amusement center and it (along with many other places) being closed because of a bad event. Chicago was on alert that day.

Agreed. I also think the way they got treated as he tried to fight the that bill's renewal is a large part of why he finally decided to retire. I think it really destroyed him on a personal level.

Us level-headed Bernie supporters who decided to back Hillary the second it was obvious she was going to be the only line of defense against Trump can now feel a bit better. For a minute there everyone hated us on every side (even/especially Busters.) There was like zero room for "results matter here/the stakes are too high" Bernie supporters. All that has changed. Hope my guy gets a position that will let him push progressive policy even more over the next four.
Would like to see him head the DNC tbh. Would be a graceful and fair move.
Looking forward to voting for a really progressive platform and a SC that cares about human rights)

Fun anecdote: My office moved to a building across the street from Ground Zero in November 2001. Sometime after we moved in--it might have been as long as a couple of months--they brought people in to do air quality tests, and placed detectors around the office. I remember a technician checking on one near me a day or so later and exclaiming, "Whoa! That can't be right."
Never heard anything about it and a few days later we were told everything was fine so false alarm I guess ha ha!

I think its also a good reminder that she even was one at that time. I feel stupid for it, but I actually went "wait, she was a senator then?" when this talk started. To be fair to me, I was an early teen (I want to say I had just turned 14) and at the time politics bored me. So for those like me, its a useful reminder of what she's done and accomplished.

I have no problem with Hillary winning winning the election but voting for her because she is women is not a sufficient reason to vote for her. Voting for her because she stands up for women is.
Also bringing up 9/11 again is easily a thing the reps would have been criticized for too.

Moreover this isn't about 9/11 as much as Hillary's work in getting support for the first responders in the years that followed, which, shamefully, is still a struggle they had to deal with.
