This comes on the heels of Russia most likely being behind the DNC hack. Whether you're of the opinion what he said today was actively malicious or just a dumb joke, no interpretation of what he said today is permissible.
It's what he's advocating not whether Russia is actually at his beck and call.
What did or didn't happen is irrelevant. Here we have a presidential nominee openly encouraging a malicious dictator state to hack a US Senators emails in order to damage her political campaign. That could be classified as treason.

No but he's still aligning himself close to Russia as they have likewise expressed interest in him being president. It's pretty disgusting these things can slide for a presidential nominee. I blame internet meme/joke culture, don't have a filter for when jokes aren't appropriate.

Man, that video this morning of Drumpf telling the reporter to "be quiet." Holy crap at that arrogant, loud-mouthed way he talks. Countless reasons to vote against him, but my number one is how unappealing and child-like he sounds. Just an asshole in so many ways. Second reason being he's anti-science and would rip up the recent Paris climate accords.

Republicans are convinced Hillary is the devil and are fine collaborating with Russia if that's what it takes.
