CNBC and NBC reporters have sources saying Trump campaign staff in disarray

What I find amazing (but not at all surprising) is how cowardly so many top Republicans were in not snuffing Trump out during the primaries. The guys a fucking clown and the people that actually voted for him are even worse. He's a carnival barker with no sense of decency or honesty and I'm loving every minute watching him and his supporters implode.

It's a shame really - if he had reigned in his worst excesses, ran on a platform where his economic policies reflect his rhetoric, steered clear of abortion and continued his line on strong immigration reform without the more incendiary comments he'd be a shoe in (in addition to being the most progressive Republican in living memory).

"A shame" is not how I'd react to the Trump campaign imploding, but that's just me.

True, but there's no accounting for an obvious mental illness or at least a couple of untreated disorders.

I'm worried he will drop out and the right will figure this out in time to destroy my queen.

Unless they can somehow get Jesus himself to run, the GOP doesn't have a candidate they can just throw out there that will cause any kind of momentum shift. I mean that was the whole point of their primary.

They will finally kick him out (which is what he wants), somehow.

That's the last thing he wants. The republicans are the country club aristocracy. What he wants is for them all to kiss his ring, not to be humbled, ostracized and brought to heel. His actions have already made him persona non grata in New York circles, if he loses Fox News too then all he's got left is twitter and the Breitbart gutter.

Insane.

Please let all he has left be Twitter and the Breitbart gutter soon.

I mean, if he drops out, what can they really do? He's the GOP nominee. I guess if he did, Pence would move into his spot as the VP pick, and that motherfucker ain't going to win shit. Especially if he has to start campaigning now, with no RNC, no kind of real support, and the stink of Trump hanging on him.

No, the RNC would have to hold a vote and pick a new nominee. Pence woudln't automatically be elevated to that position.

Oh, really? Okay, I assumed he would as the VP pick. That's who they would probably pick, though, because no one else has any real presence in the race.

Can anyone possibly even fathom the amount of pressure Trump has on him right now? He deserves it of course, but my god. Can you even remotely imagine being in his shoes right now? Unbelievable. I wonder how his mind handles it in a deep sort of way.

Even if the got Jesus to run in Trumps place many Republicans wouldnt vote for him. Like the pastor here: Megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress would vote for Trump over Jesus: The Bible calls for a ‘strongman’

Jeffress, who urged Christian voters to impose a “religious litmus” test when he backed Ben Carson for president, took the exact opposite position after switching his allegiance to Trump.

Sounds like those are some strongly held Christian convictions.

I feel like this is part of an eb/flow though. I don't want this high high so early. I've seen too many Dallas Maverick choke jobs to believe in this finality.

Knowing the madness of this election cycle, maybe what they meant by campaign staff was an ancient wizard's staff that was broken to pieces. And now they don't stand a chance without this powerful ancient relic.

This week has shown us, not very well.

I have been saying that as the election gets closer, Trump will become more unraveled and hence why I wasn't so worried about him. But I didn't expect to see it this soon.

Trump is waaaaay over his head.

Anyone dumb enough to be a campaign staffer for Trump probably deserves not to never be hired to another campaign again.

Based on the past 14 months, he handles everything with rage and self-praise. Based on the day he's had, and how quiet he has been, his two rallies tomorrow will be especially damaging.

Next:

- Ryan, McCain and others denounce Trump and un-endorse him.
- Trump endorses their primary opponents and his campaign becomes as much about unseating them as fighting Hillary.
- Ryan, McCain et al. get (figuratively) bayoneted by Trump's moronic followers.

Tis a beautiful dream.

This coward doesn't get to pivot scott free with the shit he pulled. The most contemptible political opportunist of this cycle

He isn't getting off scott free despite his best efforts now. Once Trump inevitably sinks Christie is going right down with him. Everyone who backed Trump is going to get blowback, but none more so than Christie.

He was the first and most vocal endorsement in what was a desperate attempt to stay relevant.

I mean....it's coming from reality? He's been the nominee for 12 days. In that time he's:

1) Managed to attack a 4 Star General
2) Managed to attack a Muslim American solider who gave his life for this country.
3) Managed to attack a Gold Star Family, specifically the mother of a dead solider.
4) Managed to say that women who are sexually harassed should get a new career.
5) Managed to refuse to support the Republican Speaker of the House and McCain.
6) Managed to insult a baby.
7) Called Hillary the devil.
8) Released fundraising numbers that were abysmal, proving (again) that he has no resources to run the campaign.
9) Managed to say the entire election system is rigged if he loses.
10) Managed to anger the VFW and 26 Gold Star Families.
11) Said today that he hopes the economy crashes soon so that Obama will get blamed for it and it will help him win.
12) His campaign is literally falling apart around him.
13) Said that Pennsylvania (a state he has to win) looked like a war zone.
14) Took a Purple Heart from a Veteran and said "I always wanted one of these. And this was way easier"

And like most of that was today!

If Hillary had done just one of those things, she'd be getting attacked relentlessly for weeks about it. This shit is insane.

Well, to be fair, it's not like Trump isn't getting attacked for this. He is. It's just not seeming to have the effect it should have of sinking him and his campaign completely. But you can see how it's slowly starting to show. Trump himself is unraveling hard, and it's coming off very much so in his conferences and interviews. The campaign around him is starting to fall apart, with reports now that his campaign staff has essentially given up. His party, while not withdrawing endorsement, very clearly doesn't want him, and there's even internal feuds starting.

He should have been dead in the water a long time ago, and there is, unfortunately, a very large group of people who seem willing to follow him to hell and straight up Satan's asshole, but there's definitely a slow acting poison going on here. We still have four months to go, so it could still go his way, but a slow implosion is definitely happening.

They know that if Hillary gets to swap 3 supreme court justices, the gays have won forever. That's what they're really worried about. This other stuff is just trivia to them, and unfortunately there's no evangelical Pope Francis to get them to see clearly.

He's showing some cracks, but the fact is you never get to be someone like Donald Trump in the first place if you're at all self-reflective. He's a hyper extrovert, his whole existence happens outside his head.

So? I know both "receipts" and "jump ship" but I'd never heard of mailing it in before either. Only "phoning it in". Does that bother you?

He was going to "phone it in" but Trump made it very clear his campaign staff aren't supposed to be on "the wires" anymore, so they're mailing it in, now.
