CNBC and NBC reporters have sources saying Trump campaign staff in disarray

Please, my American friends. . . vote
Frankly, even if the presidential race ends up a lock there ARE a lot of other possible people to vote on to keep in mind.

Although CA can be kind of special in how your choice is a Democrat senator anyway. I'd want to kick out the Representative in my area but despite being a fuckwit he'll probably hold his seat, but it won't hurt to try to vote him out anyway.

I cannot wait to see a major modern presidential candidates campaign completely implode. Having it be Donald Trump just makes it all the sweeter.

Maybe I'm missing something, but hasn't Trump's campaign been terrifying 75% of the internet since the convention with its plausibility? He's had favourable polls that everyone's conceded weren't just a convention bounce. Hillary came back after her convention, but every indication seems to be that Trump is in this. Where is the sinking ship narrative coming from?

I would say THIS is the time for Paul Ryan, McCain and republicans to bail out. This is the window that they need. Regardless of the Obama bait, staying tied to Trump is way worse.

Have you not paid attention the past few days? And there is a poll that shows the RNC made people less likely to vote for Trump, not more

Hillary got a BIG convention bounce, and Trump is having an absolutely horrible week, which he has compounded with all of the stuff with these Muslim army parents. It is hard to imagine how you come back from feuding with two army parents because you insinuated the man was an oppressive patriarch politicizing his son's death in order to get the person responsible for said death elected.

Not really. This is practically the worst time.

The GOP base is more or less united around Trump right now, and both Ryan and McCain have to win their respective GOP primaries before they even get on the ballot.

The best time would be immediately after their primaries are over.

Aftwr primaries
"Fuck this shit. I'm out"

I think they would rather literally eat shit to be honest. Donald Trump is now the only path to potentially replacing a hard right conservative, a moderate and a progressive justice with three hard right conservative justices. They'd go off into retirement at the end of the day calling it a win no matter the cost in shame and ruin.

I mean....it's coming from reality? He's been the nominee for 12 days. In that time he's:

1) Managed to attack a 4 Star General
2) Managed to attack a Muslim American solider who gave his life for this country.
3) Managed to attack a Gold Star Family, specifically the mother of a dead solider.
4) Managed to say that women who are sexually harassed should get a new career.
5) Managed to refuse to support the Republican Speaker of the House and McCain.
6) Managed to insult a baby.
7) Called Hillary the devil.
8) Released fundraising numbers that were abysmal, proving (again) that he has no resources to run the campaign.
9) Managed to say the entire election system is rigged if he loses.
10) Managed to anger the VFW and 26 Gold Star Families.
11) Said today that he hopes the economy crashes soon so that Obama will get blamed for it and it will help him win.
12) His campaign is literally falling apart around him.
13) Said that Pennsylvania (a state he has to win) looked like a war zone.
14) Took a Purple Heart from a Veteran and said "I always wanted one of these. And this was way easier"

And like most of that was today!

Trumps path to victory is incredibly narrow. He has to win FL,OH, and PA. He continues to try to rile up white voters which might work for hin in OH, and PA. It will not work for him in FL. Polls and models have shown this consistently. After Clinton had a great DNC he's been in complete meltdown. He's attacked a gold star family which started this shit show, and that's where you are getting this narrative. He's had just about the worst week he's ever had this week.

And we haven't even gotten through the first month. Seriously Clinton is one of the luckiest politicians of all time.

What a disaster without the dems even doing anything.

What are you talking about? This is obviously Clinton an Obama behind this. They probably paid people off or implanted a device in Trump's brain that causes him to say things he doesn't really mean heck they probably time traveled and killed Khan to start the chain of events too.

He's going to do something stupid and fire some on his staff. Lenandowski has yet to go scorched earth, but one of his campaign staff will.

Crazy thing is, had the GOP had anyone component, there's a lot of smoke on the DNC, but it's getting snuffed out because their candidate is making this about himself.

He's turning Utah, Missouri and Georgia into potential swing states, those are never fucking swing states.

Which makes it all the more strange and disturbing along with the rest of the disgusting shit he said before this. And that pile is slowly becoming the MT. Everest of hate and bigotry.

Clinton won it by a few thousand votes in 92, and may not have without Perot.

It's more of a county by county thing. Very reliable urban liberal votes. Ass end of the state has few people in it. There's only a couple of districts that need a slight change in demographics to flip it.

“Republicans now say Mr. Trump’s obstinacy in addressing perhaps the gravest crisis of his campaign may trigger drastic defections within the party, and Republican lawmakers and strategists have begun to entertain abandoning him en masse.”

It's really happening isn't it?

Holy shit, the foundation is crumbling as we speak folks. Mark your calendars, for today is the day the GOP begins it quick descent into hell.

I have a hard time believing getting into a public feud with Muslims is going to be the thing that drives Trump's supporters away. Trump's been coasting this entire time on the fact that nobody following him hears much of his words, just his tone. I'd really need to see hard numbers to believe that a scandal had finally stuck to him.

I guess I'm just not sure what could have changed about Trump's campaign that hasn't been obvious from day one - he's been throwing red meat to the angry core, in the exact way that every competent political operative knew was going to lose the Republicans the election since December 2012. If anything the story to me is still that he's stayed close enough that any random Hillary scandal can depress her base enough that he comes out ahead, or respectably* close.

* I typed that word while holding my nose.

Prediction: they're waiting for internal polls (probably as we speak). There's gonna be an open letter published and a bunch of elected Rs are gonna abandon at once. Strength in numbers and all that.

Holy shit, the foundation is crumbling as we speak folks. Mark your calendars, for today is the day the GOP begins it quick descent into hell.
Yup. Khans will be part of history.

All the GOP has to do to recover is plant ways to rig the election for Hillary, find evidence Hillary "rigged" election, impeach her utilizing likely continued party control of Congress, and leave Trump in the rear view mirror while doing so.

I can't get over how often trumps screams about things being unfair. Meanwhile there's been a witch hunt for Obama since he was a candidate and he doesn't bitch. Talk about a stark contrast.

How the fuck did was he even able to get nominated through the primaries? He beats out 16 other establishment contender, with the exception of Ben Carson. Was it the populist faction of the GOP that won out, or was it the fact that none of the other candidates could match Trump in playing the dozens?

God, I hope not. I think Pence would have a much better shot at winning and he's just as terrible but sane.

Nah. There's no enthusiasm for him whatsoever, Trump leaving would take away a huge amount of support from his rabid base, and he'd be inheriting a barebones campaign infrastructure.

Sure, by this point a generic R like Pence would help salvage more conservative Republicans from exiting the GOP this election, but if Trump leaves there would be a huge rift no matter who fills the void.
