His only huge flop has been After Earth. Aside from that he has been box office gold since the 90s and can put in good performances in smaller films like Focus or Concussion which have been most of what he's done since AE.

It's funny. I am reading so much different opinions about what characters are liked:

Sometimes it's Harley, Deadshot and Diablo, other times it's a different combination. There don't seem to be a consensus which character was compelling for the most. I saw a lot of videos that liked Will Smith.

Edit: Will Smith is still fresh. Like in every appearence he's so smooth.
 
Is Will Smith actually playing the Lawton from the comics or is he just playing Will Smith (like he does in all his other action roles)?

I felt he was just Will Smith the tragic. I didn't feel him at all. I'm so sad they made Deadshot the central character because of that. Deadshot isn't interesting at all. I guess it was written in his contract that he will have NN minutes of screen time with NN amount of lines, so Joker had to go (because he was too dark for the new tone of the movie).

I never cared much for him either, but a few days ago I watched an origin video of him and I quite like it.

Grew up in an abusive family and had an older brother, one day he decided to kill the guy who abused his brother and climbed up on a tree with a rifle. And as he shot, the branch cracked and he killed his brother.

So this I don't know which comes first, but:

He then swore to himself to never miss his target. One day, Batman & Robin went to vacation (yes, really) and Deadshot came and save the world and replace Batman. But he obviously only pretended to be good. The Bat signal was also replaced by a bullseye.

Well, he continued and had a family, then those got killed, too. And he went totally mad after that.

I'm also pretty sure that Will Smith had to have his face shown for most of the movie because they only had one designated scene where he wore the actual Deadshot mask (besides in the Flashback).

Ugh is that what happened? Deadshot was basically "the lead" in this? That's part of why I was so disappointed that Will Smith was cast in this movie. That guy can't take a back seat to anyone. Thank goodness he didn't take the Django role.

Of course there's no proof of this, but he's so big of a star that I'd guess this is a perfectly plausible scenario. Also, just like Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku! says above: he doesn't really use his mask at all, face recognition and all that.

Deadshot and Harley are the leads, yeah.
 
I saw and it and really liked it. I'm afraid I might get into internet fights with people over it and I very rarely feel the need to defend a film.
 
I saw it.

Definitely sub par overall but what works is actually better than average, somehow.

Loved Harley. Enjoyed Joker and very interested to see more of him, Chrollo vibe from Hunter X Hunter.

The action was incredibly awful, like i can't believe it's that bad. Makes no sense.

The concept of the movie was also still born, no edit could have saved that.

Overall, hoping Harley and Joker make it in the Batman movie.
 
Saw it tonight here in Ireland. A friend won tickets to the premiere and invited me along. It's a rough movie. Better than BvS but there was so much I disliked about it. I'll get to what I liked first. Harley & Deadshot were mostly good. Plenty of the humour worked and I liked how Harley's relationship with the Joker was handled by the end.

Now for the bad. The villain's CG form was so ridiculously terrible. Plus the way the villain moved throughout in said form was so goofy looking I couldn't take it seriously. I thought Joker was at best a bad impersonation of Jim Carrey as The Mask and at worst just a lame creep. Then there's Rick Flag who was so unremarkable I was half convinced he switched back and forth with a lookalike at some point during the movie.

It has probably the most uninspired soundtrack use in recent history. There's nothing original about using House of the Rising Sun in a jail scene. Oh & it's not like I heard Spirit In The Sky, Sympathy For The Devil or Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap in a dozen other movies during my lifetime.

There were way too many montage scenes set to pop songs... It was overkill.

I believe it was obvious that he's going to be a tryhard, what's with those needless "method acting" silly stunts. It certainly blew up in his face.
 
Liked some scenes. Loved Margot. Jai Courtney wasn't actually the worst person on screen which was nice to see.

Kind of a mess overall though. And the action was incomprehensible a lot of the time. Maybe my screening was just dark or something. But I could barely tell what was going most of the time. And the frequent slow mo, especially at the end, was unnecessary at best, really stupid at worst.

I liked it better than BvS though.
 
I think Leto's Joker was one of the most disappointing aspects of the film. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because of his background in acting, but never once did his Joker feel threatening or dangerous. And for some reason he was growling all the time. I also thought he was too physically small. If Joker is small at least make him do some crazy psycho stuff to compensate for his physical size. Like, we are supposed believe he is this gangster mastermind and crimelord, but we never see him do anything to deserve that title.

I couldn't help compare him to Ledger and his portrayal was so much better. That "why so serious" scene in TDK with the knife was so much more threatening. Not to mention the way Ledger carried himself. It's not even a contest who was better.

I'm curious if you are serious. The dude is still a huge draw and I'm pretty sure only has a couple of duds on his resume.
