What is the real reason Apple is dropping the headphone port? Seeing as how the note 7 can have audio jack and be submerged in water tanks?
Is it purely DRM-Agenda?

Doesn't it use rubber inserts? What is the real reason Apple is dropping the headphone port? Seeing as how the note 7 can have audio jack and be submerged in water tanks?

The 7 probably isn't even that thin. There are phones out there with a 3.5 jack which are thinner than the Moro Z which only has USBC.If they think people want thinner phones they're nuts. It's just to sell beats
Um, so how do I move on if the industry hasn't followed suit yet?The entire industry will follow suit. Bluetooth technology will advance. Audiophiles will be the only ones left kicking and screaming years from now.
Move on already. Wireless is the future. Battery will only be an issue in the short term.
- they want the space for something else (battery?)
- they want dual speakers instead
- they want people to buy Beats wireless headphones
take your pick
Apple isn't happy until the phone is so thin that it cuts your hand.

I would have been ok with it if there are two ports so we can charge the phone while using the headphone, honestly.

You tell us Mr Phone Engineer
With your intimate knowledge of the internals of phones that haven't released yet
honestly I think they want to get rid of it because it's a massive point of hardware failure for them. But there's no consumer advantage to removing it, you're correct
Yup, save money by removing components. Make money by selling adapters and wireless headphones. The reason is money
The reason is always money
Everyone always complains about apple products.
Everyone always buys apple products.
you're prettttay delusional if you think they will put it back in after taking it outMoney.
Now they can sell you a different spec model later with a built in headphone jack for an extortionate price.
For everyone else they will sell adapters and do everything they can to sabotage/undermine any third party who attempts to sell anything similar.
i ain't buying no fuckin beats. Are those the only Bluetooth headphones that'll work with it?If they think people want thinner phones they're nuts. It's just to sell beats
