Watching this stream, the patch seems to have done wonders for pop in, draw distance and textures. Game looks great.
I wish I could sleep till friday. Might have to take the Cartman route.

It unlocks at midnight on the East coast, and the corresponding time in the rest of the US (11 central, and so on).

I've got the game and update downloaded after switching my Amazon order from physical to digital. All that is left is rebuilding the database to get my ps4 running as efficiently as possible and marking the slow passage of time.
