Those development screenshots in Sean's "What do you do?" post are cool to look at. Especially seeing the rough generation that they had a couple of weeks into the project.
 
Installed, patch downloaded, just waiting for tomorrow to play it.

This is the kind of game I dreamt about playing as a kid when Elite was the closest thing I could get.

I don't often get super hyped for games these days, but this one has got me
 
Yea I really shouldn't have logged on my PS4. Just saw patch downloading. That just made the wait so much harder. 11 hours to go. Just 11 hours.

Damn it's happening! Tomorrow is the release. I'm checking Amazon and my limited edition package is preparing to ship. I'm thinking about buying this digitally though so I can start playing today! Does anyone know if this unlocks on PSN @ 12 PDT or 9 PDT? Does this have pre-loading as well?

It unlocks 9 PM PDT, and is already preloaded on my PS4. 11 hours to go!
 
I think this is the first game I've pre purchased at full price on Steam. Now I just have to sit and wait 4 days. I think I would of listened to the OST about 5 times by then.

I can't wait.

Also, AMAZING OT, simply amazing.
 
Anyone in the UK get their order from Shopto yet? I've had them not put my address on a parcel before. Found out through their utterly-pointless-until-that-moment picture of your package system.
 
I'm the kind of person who gets hung up forever on naming characters in games, and I just now realized how much of a nightmare NMS will be for me :lol
 
I wonder if the PC version will have the TAA options included on release, since there's no PC cert process. The game really needs it.
 
I never buy from GAME but had to for the Limited Edition this time... Goddamn their strict release date deliveries; waiting until Wednesday for this is going to be hell.
 
Anyone else an Olympics junky and waiting until they are over to play NMS? Ugh, this is going to be the toughest two weeks waiting while you all are playing. I'll be watching some boring event thinking I could be playing NMS right now but I just can't turn the Olympics off when they are on tv, I just have to watch them as much as I can.
 
I caved. Pre-loading from the US store (super easy process using Paypal) so I get up early in the morning to play.

As there's no guarantee my LE will arrive tomorrow (given UK release is Wednesday) and I'm going on holiday tomorrow, I feel like this additional digital purchase is more than justified!!

I'm waiting for them to finish just so I can play anything, it's tough though.

Personally, I'd prefer to never encounter garbage names like that. If I did, it's not enough to make me play offline but it's close.

Boring, unoriginal, crappy names knock me out of my escapism, but what can you expect?Nickelback sells records, Trump gets supported, and the Big Bang Theory has viewers.

CLIFF NOTES:
When MS's press conference leaked online beforehand, people were tweeting Phil Spencer about it and he responded with said emote as if to say "What can you do?"

It caught on, and started getting used more and more for that purpose by developers. Sean used it when leaked copies first started circulating.
