Preorder the LE from Amazon (which is on its way) but all this hype has gotten to me so I preordered the digital version as well! I wanna play it tonight. I got the LE for $40 thanks to some Amazon Preview credit I had so no biggie + I'm happy to support Hello Games. I'm so freaking excited!

Question for people already playing the game. Are there multiple save file options? Would like to let someone who hasn't played the game start it from the beginning.

So I got a copy today, came home and patched, and let my 10 year old daughter play first. Pure joy. Her face when she took off from her first planet. So good.
This also put a huge ass smile on my face right now. I love it.
Mad props to you and parents like you!

I'm a physical guy - I went digital for ABZÛ, but I'm hoping that they'll make a physical Collector's Edition. I got the physical Limited Edition of No Man's sky and a regular edition, so I can keep the limited one sealed for collecting purposes.

I'm all physical, all the time. I only download things when it's something that's not available as a physical version at retail.

I was gonna wait for more reactions before buying it, but the hype is getting to me.

I think I'm about to buy the digital version, I just hope PSN isn't slow and shit so I can download it before midnight.

If you start now, you should be able to get it by midnight. It took less than an hour to get the ~4.5gb game /w day one patch.

Been playing for an hour and half or so just taking in my surroundings on the first planet, getting used to the controls and such. I can see how this can be a massive time drain.

Not sure how anyone who has played it thought this game was 60 fps though.

Am i the only one around here who has a PS4 but waits for PC version of the game.

Bring me that FOV changer.

I'm struggling an insane amount to do the same. But I don't know if I can make it.

You know. This is a game to me that I don't think reviews will ever do it justice. Sure some people only look for the score. But I think this game will be kept alive by the community and the WOM spread by that.

I won't be everyone's cup of tea but I hope with what we have right now is enough to keep the community thriving and I can't wait to see how future updates shape the game in the future.

If you attempt to name a planet and someone has already used that name for another planet do you get a prompt of some sort? Or can there be countless planets with the same name?

That image is from the one of the IGN First videos from earlier this year where Sean went into the space station and looked at the planet, and said the reticle was the size of the demo area they were at on the planet. My math or estimation could be off, but I don't think enough to turn that planet into 250km.

Using your calculation for percentage covered by the white dot and assuming a 250km diameter, that'd still be ~500 meters by ~500 meters. Rewatching the video that seems about right. At 45 seconds in you can see the large sphere building off in the distance and that's only 287 meters away.

"What IS that thing? It serves no useful purpose to have a bunch of CHOMPY CRUSHY things in the middle of a hallway!?"

Finally. Just as I was caving to digital. I've waited this long, I can wait another day.

Can you put numbers while naming planets? Was thinking of putting in my phone number as one of the names of the planets and seeing If by the off chance someone lands on the planet I discovered will give me a ring.
