No Mans Sky | PC Performance Thread

Depends on resolution. 90 is typically the normal recommended FoV for 1080p for a lot of games. Many console games tend to be in the 70ish range.

This is assuming it's all normal, haven't been following if they do anything weird in NMS.

Uh, no? Has nothing to do with resolution. What is actually relevant is how close to your TV/monitor you sit. Closer = larger FOV, to make it feel natural given the "window" you're seeing the game world through.

Getting around 70-100 FPS at 4K on a lush jungle planet (with 4xSSAA!)

5930K @ 4.5
32GB DDR4
Titan X Pascal

No stuttering.

Performance is not great so far. Very stuttery.
Titan X OC
i7 3930k @ 4.7Ghz
16Gb RAM

Just tested it, not much better than the ps4 version...

God it's stuttering so much, getting GPU drops to 1% usage and it seems capped at 30fps

Edit: OK changed cap, that's better

Stutter, stutter, stutter.

Watching one of the streams... So much studdering

First time I launched it, it crashed steam. Second time I launched it, it wouldn't load. Restarting now.. .hopefully that fixes it.

I had a bad feeling about this port :-(

Getting 90 FPS with everything at MAX and FOV at 100. A little stutter during intro. None after so far.

OC 6700k, 980 Ti, 32g ram

This game is a trainwreck. Framerate is stuttery and seems to be locked, FOV doesn't change, changing settings doesn't seem to do anything.

Edit: 980; 368.81

Please include your GPU driver version when posting performance impressions It's not a trivial detail. I mean, we already have conflicting information and the game released 15 minutes ago.

Mindblowing how you have to sit through the intro in low res.. change settings.. then quit to desktop.. restart then its a diff planet to the one i saw before :(

All good now, thanks a lot!

No problem, happy to help :)

Alright everybody, let's calm down. We are only 14 minutes into this, let's be a little more optimistic.....

3770k
1080 gtx (368.81)
16GB

All maxed on 2560x1440 with 90 fov. Rich flora ordinary fauna.

Between 80 and 110 fps.

Way to default to the shittiest settings. I'm hitting an easy 60fps on my 1080 i7 3770, but it seems if I turn too quick I get some stutter. Anyone else?

Maxed out settings btw

I have an i7 6700, GTX 970, 16gb DDR4.

Somebody in that ballpark please post performance impressions!
Curious how it would run at 4K if you can test for me.

Guys.

By default the 30fps cap is turned on. Just switch it off and your "stutter" will improve.

Christ.

This. Runs great so far in 1440p with a GTX980. I have Gsync and get between 45 and 60 frames without stuttering after changing to 60FPS and restarting the game.
