No Mans Sky | PC Performance Thread

Uneven launch is a bit disappointing. Looks so good on pc!

Yeah this is by far my biggest complaint. What sucks even worse is that I have to go do something right at 12 when it launches. So Ill have to wait another 3 hours before I can play it.

The tilt ive endured this week is unimaginable. I cant wait til its all over and I can shut off my phone and just live in space all weekend.

Without SLI it probably won't run all that hot in the resolutions required for multi-screen support.

I run 4k so I'm really hoping for it but at this point with SLI being in the state it is I'm not expecting it- ever. So I won't be buying it until the game supports SLI- if that's never- so be it.

Yeah fuck it, I'm getting this twice. Kinda regret getting the ps4 version now..

Shiiiit might double dip. Need to know if it runs ok on a 670. As long as I can get solid 30 fps with better gfx settings than PS4 it will be worth it. The visuals are so much better than I expected.

Sorry if it's been mentioned already but is there some kind of HOTAS / Joystick support ?

This i have boon looking for too, no answer i can find.

Really want to use the X52, and if all else fails i guess one could set it up manually as there is joypad support

Oh, there's a PC performance thread already?

Since holding out for SLI support from day 0 is a lost cause, I'd settle with the possibility of AFR2 without graphical glitches. And a decent AA solution.

Just FXAA for the moment, but afaik they are working on some form of Temporal AA. Downsampling it is than... most probably... like maybe... we'll see.

That's only for the new Titan X unless I'm somehow mistaken.

Correct. 368.81 is the newest one for most people.

Well, SLI was at least in the roadmap, so hopefully people won't have to wait a lot. See:

Regarding SLI support (photo is from a whiteboard in their studio during development):

One of the notes says SLI support. Next to Ryan. So if there's no SLI support we know who to blame.

Don't fuck this up, Ryan.

Should change the surprise to crackachu.

Needs to be 4K tho :p

OP, your Nvidia driver is out of date for some systems. This is the most recent driver for me:

369.05.

Please add this one as well to the other.

I'll add it, why not :) Yes, it seems to only be for the Titan X (Pascal)

My i5 2400 and GTX 680 are ready.

All I want is to max out the generation distance / get rid of the horrible pop-in. I don't care how low I have to have every other setting, I can't play with stuff fading into existence every 10 feet.

If that's not possible, hurrah for Steam Refunds.

100 fov 😞😞😞😞 console gettin pwnt... man i wish my pc wasnt so old... not gonna be able to get a new one until Christmas.

Something I was hoping for as well, but the flying looks so basic I'm not sure if it would feel right with a stick. This game would have been awesome with Elite's flight model and physics.

I'm not counting on that. SLI support is shit these days and if the game doesn't have it at release it's rare that it ever gets added afterwards. This is an A1 title so there still is hope...

So what is "normal" FOV? I guess I can experiment.

Depends on resolution. 90 is typically the normal recommended FoV for 1080p for a lot of games. Many console games tend to be in the 70ish range.

This is assuming it's all normal, haven't been following if they do anything weird in NMS.

Thanks, I will experiment, see what feels right.

Still missing benchmarks from the OP, I anticipate it will take a day or two to get something good in there.

If you guys spot anything on the world wide web, let me know please :)

Console is like 55, sadly.

it kinda sucks we go into this not knowing how it will run. I think i'll do just fine with my 3770k/GTX1080/16GB combo but still would be so much better to have benchmarks prior to the launch of this game.
Thank god for Steam refunds in case this game is a shit port (which it doesn't look like so far)

If you have issues then everyone will be having issues.
