Given how many copies they're selling and at $60 to boot, 10% being refunds would be acceptable losses.

Glad it's selling well , despite some shortcomings you can see the love they have put into exploring a galaxy .

Yes. One of the reasons it's $60 is because all DLC will be free.

Those figures are very impressive! People wondering why No Man's Sky is causing so much discussion need to look no further than this sales information. I think it's safe to say the PlayStation 4 SKU outsold the Steam SKU by a healthy margin.

It's pretty interesting that the game has still succeeded, given the "controversy".
I'll probably pick it up sometime next year, these types of games need time to mature out in the open before they really live up to the promise. I learned that lesson as an early adopter of Elite Dangerous.

Friday night isn't exactly a big gaming time & it's 2:00 am in the UK right now.
I am so happy to see this game sell well, I have been enjoying it since Tuesday, heck I just managed to turn it off right now after a 3 hour session. It's 4am and I'll be paying for it tomorrow, but I just cannot make myself stop.
Definitely my GOTY so far.
Will be very interesting to see on Monday how it sold in the UK on PS4, first place is guaranteed.

I really bounced off NMS quickly in a way that I have with few games before. Doesn't hwlp that my PC seems to run the game at an absurdly low frame rate. Might come back to it in a few weeks a D a few patches.
Subnautica has some bad hitching issues too when it's loading data. PC. home of the jank!

Why extremely high? What are some other examples? There are some other examples in that tweet string but they're all very small sellers in the first place. Would love to see some numbers for larger games.

Edit: I can't comment on the quality of the game as I have not played it (I got my refund last night), but I just noticed I have 6 friends who currently own the game. On Monday (or maybe Tuesday, I forget) I had 13 friends who owned it. I don't think I've ever seen that before for a game. Be interested in seeing the refund stats.

Game locks up my PC so...its the worst game I ever bought. Not sure what else to say.
Sean knew the game sucked on PC and released it anyway to make the $$$. Shame on him.
