Yes we should only let people post that like the game. HYPE TRAIN CHOO CHOO

I may disagree with you and others on some things with this game as I'm still very excited to play FFXV, but you're right on the money with this. The people criticising FFXV aren't any worse than people rushing to defend it.

And I personally WANT to like the game. I don't hate it on principle. I want it to be good. I actually liked a number of things from the Platinum demo.

If the delay helps then I'm more than happy with it. I just don't have a lot of confidence because the game obviously has had a very very troubled development.

I don't know why they would have to wait until Sunday to put up a poster, the season pass information and the FF XV music released yesterday and nothing said. I would have called fake just on that. But GamesCom next week it makes me feel like this is true and it saddens me greatly.

It's perfectly reasonable for people to be skeptical. Even ignoring the game's 6 years of non-development the game's marketing has been a nightmare. The times they did well with the marketing for the game was the E3 2013 trailer and Uncovered (though demo reception kind of puts it in a bad light)

That, and the ATR streams that made the game feel to me like it was never gonna get done.

If you are talking about GameStop...marketing is done on select Sundays after close. No matter what information is out there.

The E3 titan demo was garbage. The player wasn't terrible, they chose to show a section that had you avoiding attacks until your party arrives that ends with killing the boss with pressing A for awesome. That's not what makes a good demo or a good RPG
Despite what you think of the game or the fight. The player on the main presentation was objectively terrible. The fight still seems boring anyway, but if you couldn't tell that player was terrible and couldn't dodge the majority of the attacks then, well....I don't know what to tell you.

Seriously GAF isn't indicative of hype or perception at all. Many people people are hyped for XV and most reactions I saw on Twitter to the Platinum demo was positive.

People projecting their dislike for the combat thinking it translates into less hype for others is just wrong. I know people who aren't event into FF that will be picking this up.

Btw the player was terrible. That section of the game still doesn't look all that great. It's essentially just a set piece. But I've seen other gameplay videos go much better than that. Matt was just terrible at demoing it regardless.

Honestly if they can do something better with a 2 month delay than its fine by me. I'm actually not expecting this to turn out good and World of FF will come out before it if this is true. Plus at the end of November is a good time because there's usually little out in December so spaces releases better.

Yeah. The Titan demo probably isn't indicative of how the rest of the game plays.. but why show it? Who decided and signed off on this? It's just baffling. THIS is the one thing that you want people to see from your RPG?

I found some leaked Gamescom footage:

It doesn't matter how well the game runs, if most of the set pieces end up being bland & uninspired like the Titan demo, then we have a problem.

Ugh.

I can't be too upset with Deus Ex, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and the Last Guardian out before then (and with two of those being their games, I guess SE win either way). Gives to time to play and trade them first (and probably play Resi 7 and P5 and Horizon, because I'm not going to believe any date until its in my hands).

But still, this whole thing is a mess.

Yeah I thought this made no sense. The marketing team is fucking bonkers.

"Surprise here's the full XV music! And also here's new information on the season pass as well so you don't worry that its cut from the game".

"Then this weekend we can announce that we're going to have a two month delay!"

Now Gamescom next week definitely makes sense for the delay announcement of course. Just that their method of sharing information like this seems so off. But oh well let's just hope for the best.

Let's not being too negative here. Most of the "jrpg set pieces" requires you going through a loading screen, entering a separate battle stage, seeing your characters standing and hitting an huge boss by turns. How is the FFXV "Titan set piece" any worse than this? I might even mention most wRPGs where even the most epic boss battles look, run and play like shit. The Titan demo - terrible E3 player aside - it's not bad at all. There's an exciting rush through the boss first of all with tons of enemies to take down, and then the final confrontation against Titan in a battle of endurance. It's not God of War sure, but I haven't seen better set pieces in recent titles in the genre tbh.

So is the rumour legit?

If so its probably for the best really. And at least it will launch with a Neo mode for that sweet 1080p fluctuating 30 fps goodness.

That said, I'd have thought they'd want it out prior to Black Friday.

It would be very odd, since the yesterday World of Wonder trailer reported still september 30. In any case, it means more days to optimize.

They've had a decade to perfect them.

Munba unfortunately there's no release date at the end of that trailer, clearly an hint at things to come :P

True, but other games playing like shit isn't exactly justification for another game to play like shit. If a game demonstration looks bad, it looks bad.

To be fair, those battles were like that because they were within the core mechanics of the game. Here, it seems like core mechanics are irrelevant to the battle. You just need to fiddle about for a bit and then cutscene takes care of it.

I don't really mind set pieces for Astrals, as that's the only way to do them justice in this game, but they have to be set pieces where my actual efforts are what progresses the game, not just an endurance test.

Lies. They barely had 3 years. Check Witcher 3 boss battle and you'll see how much more interesting and engaging Titan boss fight looks. And I say this as a lover of W3.

Just saw this thread wtf, is this true? Can any insiders confirm?

Fucking hell, this game makes me rage so much.

Doesn't this mean neo support will be mandatory for this game?

Oh yeah, delay might be good after all if they can provide a stable framerate on the Neo.

Can't say I'm surprised. I haven't been following the game much, but for a massive title supposedly coming out next month it doesn't feel like the marketing has started yet.

When they announced the date at that party, they had that split flap display thing that went all the way to November then rolled back to September. It was all planned guys!!1

Titan demo was awful and they've no one to blame but themselves. The excuses are boring.
It's an epic fight against a giant Titan, why do you think they planned on showing it? And what excuses are you talking about? Here's a better vid of the fight:

And before you tell me it still looks terrible, you can not deny it looks 1000 times(or at least a little) better than what the main presentation showed off (and the difference is pretty much from player skill alone).

One issue with negative posts for games that aren't released is if the game turns out to be great, the defenders get to say "eat your crow" and everyone wins because everyone gets a good game. While if the game sucks, the naysayers get to say "I told you so" and all the people looking forward to the game gets their dreams crushed, and we're left with a bad game. You should be able to see why people do not want the negativity in every single FFXV thread (see: Styles's shitposts).

Has Deus Ex been marketed well? Can't say I've seen any advertising for it.

Wow, I can actually tell what's going on in this video.

If you asked GAF 10 days ago, some will tell you it has been marketed terribly and some people cancelled preorders after a user framed a situation of a real panel guest's off topic remark as an actor on a fake panel who represents the entirety of Eidos Montreal. Note: the panel and guests were in no way fake and they discussed major issues in future technology and medical advancements.

Now that I think on it, end of November is a very bad sign. I feel like they delayed it to the latest possible date while still making it for the holiday season. I think the developers need more time than that but the publisher wants it done for Christmas. IIRC, this happened with Unity.

Yeah but we've known it for a long time that Tabata (who told it himself) got a deadline from SE management when he was handed the project. Most likely holiday season 2016 as you said, and they've had to work with that since the beginning.

I'd be fairly displeased if this turns out to be true. September 30th is the perfect time for me. Considering that the Ultimate Collector's Edition is holding my copy of Kingsglaive hostage, it'd make it even worse.

Still...Sunday is a weird day for the announcement.

That's one way to interpret the situation, and I agree that it doesn't read well. Another interpretation is that Tabata convinced management they could get a really nice Neo build given only a bit more time.

We don't really know details. If this is delayed and there isn't good Neo support, then yeah, I'd be more worried.
