Games like Uncharted 4 were delayed for polish, it's within the realm of possibility that FFXV could use some as well.
FFVIIR's development will be insane considering it's episodic. I bet PS5 or whatever new consoles will be out before the whole series is complete.

The game has only been in full development since late 2012. Thats a 4 year development cycle, pretty much typical of todays AAA games.

I never heard of them either. But think of it this way, it just means fans who don't want to believe can have false hope over thee weekend before it is officially announced next week!

And to think they had a freaking event about it and with the last part being the release date announcement. When they did that I thought to myself... "no way they are going to delay it again." we have to wait for official news though.

Why do you fear for a game that has a completely different development team, with completely different tools, and a completely different vision?
They considered 10 million sales a success (and said that the number needed for profit was lower). Let's say they get $27 dollar per sale (using This chart), they would get $270 million in income. If they spent more than that (and remember they get more income from deluxe and UCE), I'd be surprised.
It's not a completely different audience. There aren't many that play FFXIV that won't play any of the single-player games. The opposite, however, is not true. That audience should consider that Final Fantasy is more than the latest single-player release. Even if XV is a critical and commercial failure, the series is hardly going to fade into obscurity.

It was funny the first few times, but come on people. FFXV would only have hurt Persona 5's sales. If this is true it's good for Persona because it will have the September spotlight and FFXV's extra time for polish would only help it be better received.

Another nail in the coffin of Gravity Rush 2's commercial prospects. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if that game gets delayed in early 2017 as a response.

Delay would seem unwarranted, the framerate of the Titan Demo was stable already: Digital Foundry's analysis.
Even on Xbox One, the framerate was essentially locked at 30FPS with the E3 footage.

You are absolutely insane. Why not just delay it slightly in Japan then?
Lets delay our game on a worldwide basis to avoid one game which releases 2 weeks before ours in one market. Lets instead release the game in what is considered the most competitive release month of the year.

The E3 console builds were shaky. They are still predominately showcasing the game on development PCs.
