Rez Infinite Gets a Physical Release, Vinyl Soundtrack, Art Book, T-Shirt & More

Wrong.

Wrong.

Wrong.

They only replaced his vinyl after it blew up on Twitter (and the customer service rep actually shamed him in their eMail reply for doing so).

Also, media mail is 100% fine for vinyl. Records don't magically warp in the mail because they sensed it was a cheaper shipping method.

Thankfully, their records are generally considered good.

As far as "looking pretty," keep in mind that picture discs can have significant surface noise over standard vinyl. If you are concerned about quality, you will need to get the standard colored vinyl.
Also, they say there's no insurance for Media Mail? I ship stuff all the time via Media Mail and insure it.

Now THAT is something I have to buy. Best version of Rez on a disc? I need it.

Lol, and the preorder's up already? Done. No way I'm missing out on this.

I'm so excited about this. One of my favourite games of all time, and one of the key experiences that got me interested in interaction design.

I will have a copy of that vinyl release, mark my words :)

What I want to know is if we will get a digital version of the soundtrack from the usual places ie iTunes, Spotify, Play ect...

Looks like a pass from me, either I pay $53 dollars to make sure it arrives safe, or choose $5 media mail and have a USPS driver kick my game loose and sit on it. Thanks, but no thanks.

tempted to put it on a credit card, if it shows up destroyed (and iam8bit gives me shit) I'll dispute the charge

(which is EXACTLY what that function is for)

I think PS4 cases in general tend to produce loose disks. When I picked up resident evil 5 at gamestop the employee went through the entire box and a bunch of disks were loose and noted that this was a common occurrence. Same thing happened with another resident evil game at a different gamestop. until dawn at another store and a few games I've bought online that didn't seem to have any damage to the packaging.

Why wait until tomorrow?

US shipping is $5 for Media Mail, next cheapest is $12.66 via FedEx, after that it is $14.64 for Priority Mail. Media Mail is horrible, slow, and uninsured. International customers can follow the link above to see what shipping to them would cost.

wow

i wonder if they'll cancel these orders but I got mine in

$45 is steep but i'll keep my order if it sells out because I know it'll be worth much more if it does

We can't tell you how many times we've said this. We get/find games all the time at stores and from websites with loose PS4 discs.

supposedly the physical game isn't strictly limited in the way LRG games are. They'll print enough to cover all pre-orders plus keep some in stock.

Like all delivery services, a lot of what happens to your item during transit is dependent on whose hands it passes through. Some centers are better than others which is why one person will, say, swear by USPS, while another will think they're awful. Same with FedEx, UPS, et al. Personally, I have not had items sent Media arrive in any worse shape than Priority. If anything, I have had better luck with Media. I get Priority stuff from Amazon all the time, and that stuff sometimes gets hammered to hell and back.

And, again, Media Mail can be insured. If a retailer isn't insuring it, that is by choice.

I think there's a communication mix up here as he's talking about records and you're talking about games, which you technically aren't allowed to ship via Media Mail anyway.

That said, I'm currently selling my entire DVD and BD collection problem-free via MM. I think the issue is less with specific services and more with USPS as a whole often being shit and slower-moving packages being handled by abusive shipping hubs.

My shit sipped two-day from Amazon and delivered via USPS comes mangled all of the time, unfortunately.

Yes, it's fine, I've had DOZENS of vinyl shipped media mail over the last year, 100% success rate.

We're talking about the game and not the vinyl. The more a PS4 case is jittered and shuffled in transit, the more likely it is that the disc will come off the spindle and arrive loose inside the case.

really 40$ is too much for some of you? jesus christ... i thought it was going to be a normal priced game at 60$ and i was fine with that... (Id STILL pay 60$ for this game) But 40$ for a physical copy is fucking awesome.

The one saving grace with this is that Blu-ray discs are really hard to scratch. Obviously sucks if you wanted to keep the game sealed though.

Okay, but that still doesn't make sense.

More expensive shipping is primarily just speed, the mailman isn't carrying the package individually on a pillow with a mint because it's Priority over Media.

And that doesn't excuse the horrible, slow, and uninsured comment.
