Guys next you'll be blowing a gasket because neither Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent have jet-black hair in any of their movies

People would be annoyed if they made either Batman or Superman blonde. MJ being a redhead is the main visual characteristic she has always had.

it doesn't matter. It won't matter. (not that her dying her hair red at some point is out of the realm of possibility)

Well she can't be no worse than Kirsten Dunst. Least I don't think so... right? I mean she can't be, can she? Guys?

Eh, I'm sure she'll do great. Her hair matters so little for her character. The weirdest part is that they seem to be skipping Gwen and jumping straight to MJ? But like... I don't care. If I wanted the same spiderman story over and over, I'd never read any reboots.

He dated Mary Jane first.

I do wonder what's worse of the fandom:

An actor/actress that looks like the source material completely, but gets the character wrong. (Raimi's Gwen Stacy was an utter waste for such an important character in Spider-Man lore, for example.)
An actor/actress that doesn't look like the source material, but nails the character. (

This in not precluding getting both right. This is wondering which is worse on a personal.

It's interesting, because we have a long history of characters that don't have the look or the temperament of their comic counterparts, that people have largely been fine with. As an example, either Flash, television or film. Neither is Barry Allen really, in look or character.

How is that even possible? Wouldn't they be saying her name during the movie? Or is she just a small part in the film?

Nameless side charcter throughout the bulk of the movie while Aunt May is trying to set-up Peter and Mary Jane.

She is revealed to be Mary Jane at the end (just my thoughts).

My guess is Pete is too shy to ask her name or some shit during the film and she looks fairly average appearance-wise for most of it.

Until the homecoming dance where she steps out with red hair and looking like a supermodel, and she introduces herself as MJ.

I'm also having a hunch that Pete spends most of the film crushing on LIz Allan, who rejects most of his advances, and at the Homecoming dance he has no one to go with, but MJ shows up and is his partner.

The post credit scene is her removing her wig and you find out she actually has a full set of red hair.

Ah yeah that would work. I guess I was just assuming her role would be a bigger part of the film. But maybe she's more of a side character in it.

Wait I just discovered Peter did meet MJ before Gwen but didn't start to date until her death. Welp. In my defense, I was reading forgotten 30 years old comics from my uncle's basement so the chronology had to be off.

Being MJ isn't really difficult, you just need to be sexy, red hair and love interest for the hero... I don't think they'll go into the clones stuff and shit for the movies so here we go.
