Does SFV Juri have the worst theme song in fighting game history?

I love slower-buildup techno as well, but it's not really well suited for a fighting game at all. There's no point in a minute straight of UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ if the round is over by second 40.
Mastery of a fighting game involves hundreds of hours of repetition. If anything, more melodic music isn't well suited because it gets old quickly. You just need something lowkey for background music while you churn the butter.

Juri's theme is not that bad without the sandpaper sound, they should patch it out. You need some really good speakers for it to be tolerable.

Never heard Juri's SFV theme before this thread because I haven't encountered her online, but yea, I don't really like that theme. Like someone else mentioned, was waiting for the "intro" to end, but it never did. Dunno how they went from RASHIDO to this.

I just think Capcom sucks at representing Juri. This theme sounds more like they want us to think of her as someone sultry and sexy, a Femme Nikita / Black Widow type. She looks the part, but she doesn't act it at all. I want to hear SOMETHING that's a bit crazy and maniacal with Juri; her personality is most fun when she's just going nuts and indulging in whatever she feels.

A good fighting game theme builds up the character it's representing. Take the case of Iori and his Stormy Saxophone themes. He doesn't look *that* kind of smooth at all, on first glance. But once you know the band he plays in during his off time, and the more tragic sides of his life (the fact his mother died soon after birthing him, and that he's not suppose to live long himself), the more you can understand this beautiful instrument playing a moody, emotional tune.

In Juri's case, they could have had SOMETHING in the story mode that "sold" this kind of theme to me. But they didn't. And then the theme itself doesn't sound like it belongs much in a fight. at least not on it's own. If this was SFII style, and it had a "Danger Music" portion, it could be pretty interesting, but it doesn't even do THAT.

A shame, as Juri's theme could hang with the SF Big-wigs if it were done justice. This just sounds like one of the weaker OC remixes trying to play with samples, rather than evolve her theme to another stage of character development.

The worst theme in fighting game history? Nah it's okay.

SF4 has bad music to begin with, but Juri's theme is one of the bright spots from it and is representative of the character, which the SFV version isn't. It's still not bad though.

Its not bad, the issue is that I don't think it fits for a quick round of a fighting game and doesn't fit Juri either in my opinion.

It kind of reminds me of we are Finally Cowboys. I think it'd fit better for a boss fight that's supposed to last long, or maybe exploration music.

"Someone needs to make a electronic/techno video game music appreciation thread."

If this thread is any indication, most posters are too simple to appreciate it.

Fuck no! Robo Ky's theme is awesome, and totally fitting. That twisted sounding version of regular Ky's theme rocks.

OP, yes that Juri theme is bad. But I counter-offer almost anything from either Capcom vs SNK 2, or King of Fighters 2001. Both of those soundtracks are terrible.

Your opinion is the worst :p Holy Orders? is physically painful to listen to . When Im blasting the volume and it comes on my friends and I always went back to character select. It's a horrible song

The song plays out like she's getting completely wasted at some club, starting shit then getting thrown out

So in a way no, and in a way yes?
