Here's the funny thing about all this Trump "shame": people theorized the same thing in the primaries and it was the exact opposite. Trump regularly under performed against his polling.

Ummm

Zip allows people to answer questions anonymously, and a poll it did regarding who would win the presidential election this November said the Republican nominee would trounce Hillary Clinton 81 to 19 percent.

I don't know, something...

Experts have questioned the results since every other poll in the country has Clinton ahead of Trump. Perhaps the skepticism comes with good reason, as another Zip poll shows users think aliens sent parasites to control Trump.

Ah, okay, there it is.

These people really dont understand how bad of a disadvantage they have lol.

For example in 2012 -
Romney won 59 Percent of the white vote.
GOP Margin of victory of the white vote nearly doubled from 12% to 20%
Romney won the break down was Male: 62% Female:56% to 42%

Romney Lost - 13% to 93% Black Vote, 27% - 71 % Latino Vote 26% - 73 % Asian Vote % 38%-58% Other

Literally they would need to win over 70+% of white males and over 60+% of white women to even have a chance at the white house based on the turnout as it stands.

Its hilarious these people base things on feelings instead of the reality that minority votes matter significantly in the US.

There is no way they can mobilize more than 70% White men and 60+% white of women in this election. They need minority votes and I'm predicting the margins maybe even worse off than 2012 at this rate.

See Exit polls for yourself: http://www.cnn.com/election/2012/results/race/president/#exit-polls

While I don't think Trump is winning, I do think there are people planning to vote for him who are too embarrassed to admit it.

Funny they don't seem to consider the liklihood of people saying they'll vote trump but then don't, as well as those afraid to say they'll vote Clinton.

The typical Trump supporter doesn't seem exactly... shy. And hey, two can play this game. What about all the women out there who are scared to say they support Hillary in earshot of their MAGA-hat-wearing husbands? When we unskew the polls for them, it turns out Hillary is at, uh, let's say, a twenty point lead!

It's worth noting the amount of talk about "Shy Tories" and the pre Brexit polls over here.

Polls aren't infallible. If you're worried about Trump getting in, don't get complacent cause the polls say you're fine. Especially when we're dealing with things like this where people feel like they can't spout their bullshit out loud.

I do not understand why anyone would compare Brexit to the United States presidential election. They're not remotely similar for so many reasons beyond the fact that they're both about politics. Heck, the polls for Brexit were actually correct because they all suggested that a Remain or Leave victory would be slight at best. Which was a completely correct prediction.

The Leave victory did not occur because of complacency. People want to blame the younger generation for the result but a few statistics suggest that they did actually go out to vote. But they weren't a strong enough demographic to offset the older white British voter or the disenfranchised working class that have nothing but contempt for the political classes.

Even if we ignore these facts, the United States presidential election is not a direct democracy popularity contest.

He is actually leading in the most recent poll

Every election this "phenomenon" comes up.

Yeah, this is slightly less horrible than McCain supporters believing that a lot of white people said publicly that they'd vote for a black guy but in the privacy of the voting booth they'd stick to their own, but it's no less delusional.

There is a problem with your candidate if people are too ashamed to admit openly they are voting for them. I don't doubt there are people like this, but to think there are 10+ million people like this to account for the polling difference is ludicrous.

How do you discover undercover votes... if the people who you claim are voting for you... don't want people to know they are voting for you?

It's like asking your friend if you ugly ass dress looks good. They'll say yes because you're asking them, doesn't matter if the dress looks good or not.

I can see people saying "undecided ect" but not many outright lying saying they're voting for Hillary not Trump. Not anywhere near a big enough difference to swing things.

Also couple this with, it's America. Your average American is not bashful or ashamed to say what they think! And if we're specifically talking young people, then I doubt there is too many of them that are voting Trump in the first place.

There are so many people who are too embarrassed or ashamed to say publically that they'll vote for us. That's a good thing right?

Their angle is that they are the victim. The media, which is mostly left, is lying and giving Hillary bias coverage. People are falling for it, but the smart ones you see, they know the truth so for now they just nod their head but come election they will vote for Trump.

First it was the polls were rigged. Now it's that people are voting purposely incorrect. What will be the next claim? Tune in tomorrow.

I mean, this works both ways, you know? I have a friend who lives in Houston who goes along with her coworkers on the Trump stuff so as not to be the odd one out, but there's pretty much no chance she's actually going to vote for him.

The team sports mentality in red states is pretty hardcore, and if anything might actually be masking how amazingly unpopular Trump actually is in some Republican strongholds.

As someone who worked in market research for a long time. And also has common sense. Online polls are bullshit.

In fact face to face polling is the best because people are least likely to lie in a more personal scenario.

Yeah, I think the most accurate polls are face to face or live calling. I've actually done live calling polling(making calls to different households) and the people who i speak to on the phone are pretty straight forward and quick with answers.

Yes, online polls are sure to be more accurate. People definitely can't fuck with or unfairly influence online polls.

I heard a Trump supporter parrot this on CNN last night. And it clearly didn't register with him that the idea that people are ashamed to admit they are voting for his candidate is sort of the entire problem.
