Do you guys know if Civ 6 will be like Civ 5 and the physical version will download with Steam? I want to get this 25th anniversary edition but I don't want to double dip for Steam access.

Have we all accepted that the vanilla game is probably going to be horribly unbalanced and we'll have to wait for a few years of patches and DLC to actually play a great Civ game?

Well this does have the same people over it that lead the last Civ V expansion, so hopefully they aren't that far off, and can balance the most broken stuff out before modders have to do it.

Glad they can make an extra buck, but I don't see the appeal of editions like that.
It seems like the mechanics are even more different from V -> VI then they were from IV->V.

civ games tend to be best before firaxis ruins them with expansions
the vanilla games with some balance tweaks (not silly gameplay changes) are usually the only versions that work as intended
(Vanilla V wasn't that bad, btw)
Not really; imo, changes like the hex map dwarf anything we've seen going from V to VI. It's just that thanks to the large structural similarities, the differences that do exist appear more stark.
I think making wonders and buildings occupy tiles is a bigger deal than square -> hex gameplay wise.
one unit one tile, maybe. But it's all opinion!
Hex on its own, yeah, but hex + 1U1T makes it a bigger transition, not to mention everything else that changed. Only things in VI that approach that are decompressing cities and maybe the diplo changes, if CBs are really gonna be a thing.
I'm very worried about diplo, especially now that religious victory is back.

Horribly unbalanced, yes, but I don't think it'll take too long; just need a good community balance mod, imo. Featurewise I'm struggling to think of anything else I'd like to see.
I think vanilla VI will be in a lot better shape than V (which needed so many patches even before Gods and Kings to be decent). It'll need balancing but it'll great.
- Land cliffs (placed in between tiles like rivers, allowing the tile to be occupied but protected from a given direction)
- Vassalage
- Reworked Diplo Victory & World Congress (powered by intrigue, spies, and the new envoys)

There wont be world congress in vanilla Civ VI.

Vanilla V was straight unplayable trash.
I just need to know what computer to buy since the last new computer i bought was when Civ V was released.
Someone help w/probable specs? Or a link to a computer that will most likely play VI at the highest settings?
I'm not saying it was the best version ever, I'm saying Vanilla V was fine. It was fine y'all. FINE. Other opinions are wrong.
What a great way to make an argument.
Compared to Civ IV BTS, Civ V Vanilla was way worse. I just imagine it will be the same at Civ VI's launch and I'll continue to play V for awhile after it releases.
To be clear its one "district" per tile, not building. So your science district might have your library and your lab and your school, etc
